Prepare to set your phasers to stun and purchase tickets to this year’s New York Comic Con – Paramount+ has dropped the bombshell that several members of the cast of the most beloved series in the franchise, Star Trek: The Next Generation, will be appearing at the yearly function. While the series may have departed Netflix several months ago and has been off the air for almost two decades, the cast has never left our hearts. The appearance of the actors will be a celebration of not only the legendary series but also of the return of their upcoming travels in Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard

As for who will be appearing at the Picard panel, fans can expect to see the likes of key cast members including Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Gates McFadden, Brent Spiner, Marina Sirtis, and Michael Dorn in attendance. Along with the all-star lineup, Star Trek fans will also hear from executive producers Alex Kurtzman, Rod Roddenberry, and Terry Matalas. If you’re heading to NYCC, you’ll be able to join in on the fun on Saturday, October 8th from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. ET on the Empire Stage.

Hoping for even more Star Trek content at this year’s NYCC? Well, you’re in luck as it seems as though familiar faces from just about every series will be in attendance. Along with Next Generation/Picard, fans will be hearing from the cast and creative crew behind Star Trek: Discovery, and Star Trek: Prodigy.

Now heading into its fifth season, Paramount+’s Star Trek: Discovery has been a hit since Season 1, taking fans on the adventures of the titular ship and its crew. The series boasts a star-studded call sheet including Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Shazad Latif, Anthony Rapp, Mary Wiseman, Jason Isaacs, and Wilson Cruz. For Discovery’s panel at NYCC, fans can expect to hear from Martin-Green as she chats with Kurtzman, Roddenberry, and Michelle Paradise about her character, Michael Burnham, and the endless impact her character has had – and will continue to have – on the franchise.

With a second season finally in production, Star Trek: Prodigy is an animated series geared towards adults and children alike, airing on Paramount+ as well as Nickelodeon. The series centers around a determined young crew of aliens who stumble upon the abandoned USS Protostar. Quickly calling all hands-on deck, the youngsters set out on a journey of wonder and adventure as they travel from the Delta Quadrant to the Alpha Quadrant.

The series is voiced by Brett Gray, Ella Purnell, Jason Mantzoukas, Angus Imrie, Rylee Alazraqui, and Dee Bradley Baker, with Jimmi Simpson, John Noble, and Star Trek: Voyager’s Kate Mulgrew. Also holding down recurring roles on the series are the familiar voices of Jameela Jamil, Daveed Diggs, Jason Alexander, Billy Campbell, Bonnie Gordon, and Robert Beltran, the latter of whom is another Voyager alum. Those heading to the Prodigy panel at NYCC can expect to hear from cast members Mulgrew, Purnell, Gray, and Jamil as well as the executive production team which is made up of Kurtzman, Roddenberry, Kevin Hageman, Dan Hageman, and Ben Hibon.

All in all, it sounds like this year will be a great one for Star Trek fans heading to NYCC. And who knows, maybe there will be even more surprise guests where that came from. There’s only one way to find out and that’s to buy your tickets and get to the Javits Center between October 6 and October 9.
