See Michael Keaton Back As Batman In The Flash Up Close And In Detail

Michael Keaton is back as Batman; see all the details you may have missed in The Flash trailer.

We got a full-length trailer for The Flash during the big game last night, and one of the best parts was finally seeing Michael Keaton back in the Batsuit. Keaton looked as good as ever in the new suit, which forgoes some of the more colorful aspects of his suit from the Burton movies. It seems to still have those tall bat ears and the yellow emblem on the chest, but the bright yellow utility belt is done away with.

Taking a closer look at Michael Keaton’s Batsuit reveals some other details. Although we don’t get a super well-lit shot of the suit, it seems like they also got rid of some of the more defined muscles of the suit, giving it a more realistic look. For the most part, though, it’s very recognizable, and it’s sure to build up hype leading up to the release of The Flash movie.

Although Michael Keaton’s appearance is definitely the highlight for long-time fans, there is a ton of stuff going on in this trailer. We see multiple Barry Allens, the return of Michael Shannon’s General Zod, and a good look at Sasha Calle’s Supergirl. We also get a great look at the Supergirl suit in the trailer, and it looks very comic-book-accurate. But for many DC fans, Michael Keaton’s appearance was the highlight.

It seems like Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen will need as much help as possible, which explains why he seeks out multiple Batmen. Not only is Michael Keaton’s Batman providing a helpful hand, but Ben Affleck’s Batman will also be along for the ride. It’ll definitely be cool to see two Batman characters working side-by-side.

The Flash seems like it will be one of the biggest game-changers in the upcoming DCU lineup. The film deals with time travel and the multiverse, so there could be long-term consequences to Barry Allen’s antics. Hopefully, it means that we’ll get to see more of Michael Keaton’s Batman in future DCU films. We even got a look at a different bat cave and a new batwing, which you can see below.

We even have a close-up look at Michael Keaton’s Batman yielding the batarang. The iconic weapon is shaped like a bat and acts as a lethal boomerang in combat. It has been a staple feature of every batsuit in comics and on-screen.

The Flash is directed by Andy Muschietti with a screenplay by Christina Hodson. Along with Michael Keaton and Ezra Miller, the film stars Ben Affleck, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdú, Kiersey Clemons, and Antje Traue. Star Ezra Miller has faced legal troubles throughout the phases of production, so we’ll have to wait and see if they continue to be part of the DCU after this film.

While we’re getting a double dose of Batman with Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck in The Flash, we won’t get any Superman or Wonder Woman. Reportedly, these cameos were filmed (with Henry Cavill getting paid $250,000 for filming his scene) but cut after James Gunn and Peter Safran decided on their new plans for the DCU. Gunn confirmed that The Flash will reset everything in the DCU, so it’ll be interesting to see how the film plays out.

We won’t have to wait too much longer to see Michael Keaton in The Flash, as the film is coming out on June 16. Before then, we’ll see Shazam! Fury of the Gods on March 17. The DCU will wrap up the year with Blue Beetle on August 18 and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on December 25.
