Zendaya is looking fierce in her latest Instagram post. In lights reminiscent of camera flashes, the Euphoria and Spider-Man star tucks her light brown hair behind her ears and parts her lips as she strikes an alluring pose for the camera. Dressed in a black vest with black beaded floral accents over a simple white t-shirt, she looks effortlessly cool and confident as she sets social media on fire.
According to the Daily Mail, Zendaya was also taking this opportunity to show off her new hairstyle: a shoulder-length bob. She tagged her colorist Tracey Cunningham as she showed off a new, lighter, honey-brown hair color. She is also wearing a small gold necklace with colorful gems and earrings by Darius Jewels.
This is Zendaya’s first post after a month’s hiatus from the platform. Within 24 hours, the post has already racked up more than 7 million likes and an endless stream of comments praising her style choices.
Zendaya is no stranger to having all eyes on her. The 26-year-old started performing in school plays at just 6 years old and started dancing just a few years later. She started her career in earnest in 2009, when she was 13 years old, by modeling for big companies like Macy’s, Old Navy, and Mervyns.
Perhaps more so than her modeling, Zendaya quickly began to make a name for herself as a dancer. She appeared in a commercial for Sears featuring Selena Gomez before becoming a featured performer in a music video for the Kidz Bop version of “Hot n Cold” by Katy Perry.
Having these things on her resume helped a young Zendaya to land a starring role on Disney’s Shake It Up series with fellow child actress Bella Thorne. Zendaya originally auditioned for the role of CeCe Jones, but was chosen instead to play the part of Rocky Blue, CeCe’s best friend and partner in hijinks. The two of them played talented young dancers who get cast on a local dance show, Shake It Up, Chicago! and must then juggle their newfound fame as they attend high school.
After this breakout role, Zendaya played parts in several made-for-tv Disney movies and became a respected singer, as well. She even took second place on season 16 of Dancing with the Stars before going on to star in another hit show on Disney, K.C. Undercover, in which she played the main character.
In 2016, Zendaya made her move from Disney into more adult roles. Her first feature film role was that of Michelle “MJ” Jones in Spider-Man: Homecoming, which stars her now-boyfriend Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. She followed that up by appearing in the sexy Bruno Mars music video for “Versace on the Floor” before impressing audiences with both her singing and acting in The Greatest Showman in 2017.
In 2019, Zendaya started playing Rue, a 17-year-old drug addict on HBO’s Euphoria. Her talented, nuanced portrayal of such a complex character led to her winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and put her name – and sexy Instagram photos – in front of millions more appreciative fans.
