While promoting Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson in 2021, who highly values his social media following, Emily Blunt shared her disinterest in Instagram with The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ve always loved the mystique of an actor,” she told them. “I don’t need to know what they brush their teeth with. I don’t want to know. I love people being hard to figure out.”

Of course, the Emily Blunt Instagram question has been asked about her lack of a social media presence long before 202. She has said more about that over the years, mostly with the same message.

In 2015 she told Vulture, “I’m like a dinosaur with [social media], No. 1. But it’s also not really an organic sort of fit for me.” She added that not only is she not on social media, but she isn’t great about using her phone in general. “I can barely remember to text people back!”

Speaking with Vulture, she also echoed her 2021 statements to The Hollywood Reporter about the mystery surrounding an actor, but elaborated more this time. There’s no Emily Blunt Instagram account because she worries that if her fans know more about her personal life, it will make it more difficult for them to see her in character.

She also feels that blurring the line between her personal life and her acting career will make it harder for her to switch between the two personally, which would have a negative impact on her enjoyment of life and her ability to stay a great actress.

In her own words, an Emily Blunt social media presence doesn’t exist because: “I also feel that my job is to persuade people that I’m somebody else. So if I reveal too much, then I’m doing my job a disservice, in a way.” She added, “It’s about a balance. I really am in love with this job, but I’m also in love with my life outside of it. One of them very much feeds the other.”

EMILY BLUNT PROMOTED A QUIET PLACE AND REITERATES A NO SOCIAL MEDIA STANCE

While promoting A Quiet Place in 2018, Emily Blunt was asked again about Instagram and social media. The first four minutes of the below interview have the actress talking about the movie, sign language, and the power of being quiet.

Then, in 2020, she was promoting the sequel. During an interview for A Quiet Place Part II, the interviewer pointed out that in 2022, there is a lot of pressure to be on social media. How is it possible that Emily Blunt’s Instagram still doesn’t exist? How has she avoided the social pressure?

So why doesn’t Emily Blunt have an Instagram? She doesn’t feel like she needs it. She doesn’t feel like she’s missing out. In short: she is a pretty successful actress who is happy with her life, and doesn’t see what social media would add to it.

While it’s fair enough that Emily Blunt doesn’t have to have an Instagram to show off her personal life, that doesn’t mean fans don’t want to keep up with what’s going on with the actress. Stars like Dwayne Johnson use their social media to keep fans in the loop on behind-the-scenes photos for upcoming movies and updates on release dates.

In lieu of a real Emily Blunt Instagram account run by the actress herself, you can follow a variety of fan accounts. Twitter is sparse for this, but you can follow @EmilyBluntNet. Other big fan accounts on Twitter actually got deleted, because they bordered too closely on pretending to actually be the actress herself. Instagram has a lot more options.

Another good tip for following Emily Blunt on Instagram is to follow her co-stars for whatever project she may currently be filming. For example, when she was working with Chris Hemsworth on The Huntsman: Winter War, he would share photos like this:

When she was filming Jungle Cruise with Dwayne Johnson, he shared a lot of Emily Blunt updates on Instagram. Since Jungle Cruise 2 has been greenlit, it’s expected that he’ll eventually be doing so again when production gets going.

EMILY BLUNT HAS BEEN RUMORED FOR THE MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE

If you haven’t seen the new MCU movie, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, you may want to avoid the following spoilers. 

When John Krasinski appeared on screen as Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic, as part of the Illuminati in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, one-half of the fan-casted dream team was set. Fans have been longing to see Krasinski as Mr. Fantastic and his wife, Emily Blunt, as Sue Storm, making up half of the new Fantastic Four.

With Krasinski now involved, does that mean Ms. Blunt is up next? While we wouldn’t find it out from any Emily Blunt Instagram, there have been rumors.

So far, mum’s the word on if Ms. Blunt will actually take the MCU leap. For the longest time, she has been denying any involvement with the Fantastic Four, although her name has been at the top of fans’ wish lists.

Ms. Blunt, who famously brought back another classic character when she played Mary Poppins in Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns, hasn’t completely shut herself off from appearing in a superhero movie. It’s just it needs to be something special for her to make that move.

“It’s not that it’s beneath me. I loved Iron Man, and I wanted to work with Robert Downey Jr,” Ms. Blunt explained to Howard Stern via The Hollywood Reporter. “It would have been amazing, but I don’t know if superheroes are for me. They’re not up my alley. I think it’s been exhausted. We are inundated. It’s not that it’s only the movies, it’s all the TV shows as well.”

Ms. Blunt then continued by saying, “And it’s not to say that I would never want to play one. It would just have to be something so cool … and then I would be interested. In general, I don’t race to see superhero movies. They leave me feeling a little bit cold. I can’t explain it. I can’t get in there.”

That’s not a definite no. Then again, if the new rumors are true, Ms. Blunt may have missed her shot. Jon Watts (Spider-Man franchise) had been tabbed to bring the Fantastic Four to the MCU, but he has since stepped away only saying he wanted to take a break from superhero movies.

Now, the latest scuttlebutt is that Bryce Dallas Howard, who directed a couple of episodes of Disney+’s The Mandalorian series, is now in line to take over directing duties and on top of that, she is now the frontrunner to snag the role of Sue Storm. 

SHE STARRED IN JUNGLE CRUISE AND WILL NEXT BE IN OPPENHEIMER

As for Emily Blunt, she has kept herself quite busy, though obviously not on an Emily Blunt Instagram account. She was recently seen in the smash Disney hit Jungle Cruise, starring opposite Dwayne Johnson. Next up for the busy actress is the western series The English where Ms. Blunt stars as a woman seeking revenge on the man responsible for her son’s death.

Then she will move on to the film Oppenheimer, a biopic about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the man who helped develop the atomic bomb. After that is the long-talked-about sequel to Edge of Tomorrow where Ms. Blunt is set to return as Rita in Live Die Repeat and Repeat. 

Of course, all of these projects are fine and dandy, but fans are still pushing for Ms. Blunt to join the MCU as Sue Storm. They got John Krasinski. Let’s see if their pushing can finally bring in Ms. Blunt. 

In all, we will have to find out this news in other places that an Emily Blunt Instagram account or other social media. But we should have a clear picture soon.
