Chris Evans is currently living in a post-Captain America world and with all of that time freed up, he’s able to take on more varied projects. The latest project announced for the Marvel star is called Pain Hustlers and it will unite Evans with Emily Blunt for a movie about a medical conspiracy in Central Florida.

Pain Hustlers will tell the story of a high-school dropout who gets a job at a failing pharmaceutical start-up. They soon find themselves wrapped up in a criminal conspiracy as the company begins to take off. David Yates has been announced to direct the movie and compared it to a similar style as movies like The Big Short and The Wolf of Wall Street. Chris Evans’ role has yet to be revealed, as the project is still in its early stages. The film will be distributed by Netflix.

Before we see Pain Hustlers, we’ll see Chris Evans reunite with the Russo Brothers for an upcoming Netflix film called The Gray Man. The Russos have directed Evans in two Captain America films and two Avengers films, so their working relationship is well-established at this point. The Marvel films that were directed by the Russos are arguably some of the best the MCU has ever put out, so it will be interesting to see what they and Evans can do together in a non-superhero context. The Gray Man stars Ryan Gosling as the CIA’s top operative, whose identity is revealed by his psychopathic former colleague. This kicks off an international manhunt where global assassins are after Gosling’s operative. This will be a decidedly different role for Evans, as he’ll be playing the antagonist, rather than the boy scout good guy he played when he was Captain America. In addition to Gosling and Evans, The Gray Man will star Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Rege-Jean Page, Billy Bob Thorton, Alfre Woodard, and more. The Gray Man is set to hit Netflix on July 22.

If you want to see (or hear) Chris Evans in a new movie sooner than that, you can catch him in Lightyear, where he voices the character that the Buzz Lightyear toy was based on in the Toy Story universe. Unfortunately, Lightyear has been called one of the worst Pixar films by quite a few critics, but it’s still a serviceable, visually impressive ride. Even the worst Pixar film is better than a lot of animated offerings out there.

Chris Evans has quite a few mysterious projects on the horizon alongside The Gray Man and the newly announced Pain Hustlers. His upcoming movies all have their plots under wraps right now. While we don’t know the plots of any of these movies, we know his major co-stars. Ghosted will see Evans reunite with Ana de Armas after appearing opposite her in The Gray Man and Knives Out. He’ll also be appearing alongside his frequent Marvel co-star Scarlett Johansson in Project Artemis. His project Red One will see him star opposite Dwayne Johnson. We’ll keep you updated as more news is revealed for Evans’ upcoming films.
