Just like getting your groove back after a bad breakup, Henry Cavill’s luck has finally turned around as the actor is ready for his next major role in the Warhammer 40,000 project. Referring to the gig as “the greatest privilege of my professional career,” the actor throws some shade at his previous roles in the DCEU as Superman and in the titular role in Netflix’s series, The Witcher. Not only will the title serve as his next big leading role in a highly-anticipated title but Cavill will also flex his behind-the-scenes muscles as a member of the movie’s team of producers.

A Huge Warhammer Fan

Having previously been known as being a fan of the books on which The Witcher was based, it seems that Henry Cavill is also a dedicated player of the Games Workshop game that spawned the Warhammer 40,000 production. He says that while the team is still crafting the story to properly transfer to the big screen, his main goal is to keep it “faithful” to its subject matter. The actor also said that his involvement was a dream come true as he’s been a fan of the game and other things like it “since I was a kid.”

Dedicated To His Craft

Henry Cavill’s dedication to his craft has long been the stuff of legend with his following as they know that if he commits to something, he not only throws his all into it performance-wise but he also does the extra work to really get it. This can certainly be said for his outlook on Warhammer 40,000 as he explained that working on “something like this” was one of the big reasons that he got into the world of entertainment.

We Still Have A While To Wait

But, don’t get too excited for the arrival of Warhammer 40,000’s on-screen makeover just yet as the project still has a good chunk of time before it’s expected to even go into production. In the meantime though, Henry Cavill has a slew of other irons in the fire.

Argylle

Currently, Henry Cavill can be seen in the leading role of Matthew Vaughn’s latest feature-length project, Argylle, which made its way into cinemas last Friday. In the feature, Cavill stars as the titular spy in a James Bond-like film with a twist that also boasts a killer lineup of A-list talent including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Dua Lipa, John Cena, Samuel L. Jackson, Bryan Cranston, and more.

Ungentlemanly Warfare, And We Don’t Mean Warhammer

In April, Henry Cavill will be back in action in yet another spy-like comedy-drama, Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The heavily dramatized story is based on truth as it tells the tale of a group of soldiers recruited by Winston Churchill to bring down the Nazi forces during WWII.

Future With DC?

As for his possible future with DC Studios, while it’s unlikely that we’ll ever see Henry Cavill toss the iconic Man of Steel cape back on, we suppose anything could happen. Although it was first reported that James Gunn and Peter Safran had permanently and without a question parted ways with Cavill, who appeared as Kal-El for nearly a decade, comments later surfaced that he simply wasn’t hired for the upcoming Superman: Legacy. The new film will instead star David Corenswet in the title role.
