Brad Pitt has played a variety of memorable roles during his long tenure in Hollywood. As eclectic and wide-ranging as his characters are, one thing finds common ground amongst his roles: a striking, pretty face. So of course when news broke that the 57-year-old was cast in an upcoming film alongside Hollywood vet Sandra Bullock, the world couldn’t help but wonder what type of role the baby-faced actor would play. The wait is finally over and The Lost City trailer finally revealed just what’s in store in the upcoming role for one of Hollywood’s most iconic faces.

Brad Pitt’s role is revealed toward the ending of the trailer. The video starts off with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum showing off their playful sides as they poke fun at each other and even finish each other’s sentences as they introduced the film. Co-star Daniel Radcliffe made an appearance as the two actors introduced The Lost City upon opening doors, only to present Radcliffe himself on the other side.

The trailer featured plenty of action, plot explanations, and sneak peeks at the enigmatic duo known as Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. As famed romance novel author Loretta Sage, Bullock takes the journey of her life as she and the poster boy of her romance books, Alan (Channing Tatum), are sent on a treasure hunt when Sage is kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire named Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe). But possibly more exciting than getting a glimpse at the hilarious interactions between Bullock and Tatum might just be the highly anticipated reveal of Brad Pitt’s character at the end of the trailer.

Showing up to save the day Rambo style, Brad Pitt makes his big entrance and flaunts his physique as he effortlessly jumps a large fence and takes down a few guards to rescue Sage. With his signature long locks tousled around his face, Sage asks Pitt, “Why are you so handsome?” to which he replies, “My dad was a weatherman”. In a jab at both Tatum and Pitt’s beauty, Alan replies in clear jealousy over the established hunk, “She doesn’t need saving in there.”

In a clearly campy matter, The Lost City appears to feature Brad Pitt in a role that much of Hollywood has coined him as: the lusty dreamboat. While much of the actor’s success can be credited to roles featuring the blue-eyed actor as the eye-candy in films like Thelma & Louis, Interview with the Vampire, and Legends of the Fall, he has proven over and over that he is more than just a pretty face. His long list of roles has taken on iconic and memorable characters that remain pertinent today. With over thirty years in show business, it’s great to see Brad Pitt playing a role that pokes fun at himself. While it appears that Pitt’s role in The Lost City looks to be just a cameo, there’s no doubt he will end up dominating his time on screen. You can see Brad Pitt in all his glory when The Lost City lands in theatres on March 25, 2022.
