See Zooey Deschanel Show Some Leg On A Couch

Zooey Deschanel is one of the great style icons of the early 2000s and it seems she has not lost a single step in the early 2020s. The future Apple TV+ star recently posted an image of herself to her very popular Instagram account (currently at over seven million followers and count), resting on a couch and showing off quite the expanse of bare leg. While Zooey Deschanel is best known for her quirky, “adorkable” persona, it is worth noting that she can pull off icy and autumnal as well.
The picture on Zooey Deschanel’s Instagram account shows the actress reclining on a dark-toned fabric couch, staring up at the camera with an inscrutable look and the classic model “mouth open for some reason” facial expression. She is wearing a light-colored, ribbed wool and silk long coat by Dior, which is open enough for her to reveal a whole lot of leg and a pair of metallic silver heels. While we see a whole lot of dramatic high-fashion looks around here, even this casual designer style can sometimes be stunning.
It was recently announced that Zooey Deschanel would be joining the critically acclaimed Apple TV+ drama Physical, alongside series lead Rose Byrne and Rory Scovel. Physical stars Rose Byrne as a frustrated housewife in 1980s California who enters the booming aerobic exercise industry while dealing with her irritating husband’s political ambitions. While the first season of the show received mixed reviews from critics (largely due to its darkly comedic tone and unlikeable characters, as though The Sopranos didn’t exist), the second season currently holds a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Zooey Deschanel will be joining Physical as a former sitcom star who is also transitioning into the lucrative exercise industry. It seems likely that the actress may be presented as a rival to Rose Byrne, and we are hopeful that we might see a darker, more serious side of the famously twee Zooey Deschanel in Physical. However, we shall just have to wait for the currently unscheduled season three premiere of the show to see what happens.
Physical will be Zooey Deschanel’s first regular television role since her FOX sitcom New Girl ended in 2018. The series netted her a Primetime Emmy nomination and helped raise the profile of actors like Jake Johnson, Max Greenfield, and Hannah Simone, and is sadly underrated.
In the meantime, Zooey Deschanel has stayed busy releasing music with M. Ward under the name She & Him; their most recent album was a tribute to Beach Boys founder Brian Wilson, who provided vocals for one track. She also has a number of feature film projects upcoming, including the drama Dreamin’ Wild with Casey Affleck and Walton Goggins and the family film Harold and the Purple Crayon alongside Zachary Levi.
However, we are currently just as happy to see Zooey Deschanel show off stylish and sexy outfits like the one above. Though her wardrobe frequently skews toward the winsome and quirky, it is good to see her take a dramatic turn like this every once in a while.
