But why male models? Because Ben Stiller’s best movie is currently climbing up the streaming charts. According to FlixPatrol, Zoolander is now in the Top 10 for Amazon Prime this week.

Ben Stiller has made plenty of comedy movies throughout his career, but Zoolander might just be the cream of the crop. The film follows Stiller as Derek Zoolander, a top male model who is targeted by fashion guru Mugatu (Will Ferrell), to be brainwashed and kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia. The rest of the star-studded cast is rounded out by Owen Wilson, Christine Taylor, Milla Jovovich, Jerry Stiller, David Duchovny, Jon Voight, Woodrow Asai, Vince Vaughn, Judah Friedlander, Alexander Skarsgard, and many more.

Ben Stiller hit comedy gold when he made Zoolander and it did fairly well at the box office too. While the movie wasn’t a smash hit by any means, it did manage to pull in $60.8 million at the box office against a budget of $28 million. The film was successful enough that a sequel was eventually released in 2016, although it was met with pretty negative reviews.

One thing that Ben Stiller’s Zoolander definitely had going for it was a cascade of cameos from prominent actors and figures in the fashion world alike. The movie’s list of cameos could probably break some sort of record and included names like David Bowie, Billy Zane, Lance Bass, Victoria Beckham, Fred Durst, Tom Ford, Cuba Gooding Jr., Fabio Lanzoni, Tommy Hilfiger, Paris Hilton, Heidi Klum, Lenny Kravitz, Karl Lagerfeld, Lil’ Kim, James Marsden, Natalie Portman, Winona Ryder, Garry Shandling, Christian Slater, Gwen Stefani, and Donatella Versace. It’s fitting that a movie that poked fun at the fashion world would pull in so many icons of the industry.

Ben Stiller has made plenty of comedy movies since directing and starring in Zoolander, but he also has moved on to more prestigious work since then. The same year as Zoolander, he starred in noted auteur Wes Anderson’s The Royal Tennenbaums. Stiller also starred in acclaimed films like The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and The Meyerowitz Stories.

However, Ben Stiller has never been more acclaimed in the world of movies and TV than this year, after his heady thriller Severance became the must-watch TV show of 2022. Stiller directed and executive-produced the Dan Erickson-created series, which followed a group of employees who undergo a brain procedure that separates their work life and their home life. The show is all anyone has been able to talk about this year and the breathtaking cliffhanger has everyone waiting desperately for the second season.

Fortunately, Ben Stiller is definitely bringing us a second season of Severance, as the show was renewed by Apple TV+ in April. In the meantime, Stiller is directing several other movies and TV shows in the near future including Bag Man, London, and the series Super Sad True Love Story. There are no release dates set in stone for his upcoming projects, but we’ll likely find out more soon.

In the meantime, you can check out Ben Stiller’s classic comedy movie Zoolander on Amazon Prime. If you missed it, you should also do yourself a favor and binge Severance on Apple TV+.
