For the second time this year, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has teased his involvement in Fortnite, a prominent battle royale title that built its brand on fantastic gameplay and various crossovers and references to pop culture. At this time, it’s all but confirmed that The Rock is the man behind the mask and voice of The Foundation — a notable character who’ll likely play a significant role in the upcoming Fortnite Chapter 2 finale event called “The End.”

According to Screen Rant, The Rock shared an ad for his energy drink “ZOA” on Twitter, further hinting at his identity as Fortnite character The Foundation. The ad, which seems like a typical run-of-the-mill video from the Celebrity King of Instagram, features many secrets about The Rock’s involvement in Fortnite, hiding in plain sight. For example, Johnson purposefully accentuated distinct vocabulary which relates to Fortnite, such as “zero point,” “higher ground,” and “foundation” — which is a peculiarity since it matches his ring name, The Rock. You can watch the ad below:

Additionally, several sci-fi props are lying around the video, like a gun which seems like something The Foundation may holster. But perhaps the biggest indicator is The Foundation’s recognizable helmet hidden in Rock’s fridge, which he so casually opens to reach for the energy drink. Fortnite‘s fandom has long theorized about the masked warrior since his introduction in March this year, many of whom have tied The Foundation with Dwayne Johnson, stating that the dramatic reveal is imminent. However, given The Rock’s teases in which he all but confirmed that he’s The Foundation, the reveal is likely to be less dramatic.

The Foundation was introduced in Fortnite‘s Season 5 finale as a leader of The Seven, a mysterious organization comprised of apparent meta-humans, diametrically opposed to the Imagined Order, the game’s supposed villainous faction. The Seven have arrived on the Island in destructive meteors, which released masked extraterrestrial/extradimensional beings. Four members have been revealed since The Seven’s introduction to the game, with the remaining three figures likely to make an appearance in the future narrative of Fortnite. And though they appear antagonistic at first glance, The Foundation was introduced as an ally to the players during the game’s Zero Crisis Finale event that took place last March.

The character received massive attention due to several details linking him to The Rock, like his armor matching the actor’s tattoos, previously leaked plans for Dwayne Johnson’s skin, and the actor himself dropping hints in his social media posts. Given that his latest post, the ZOA energy drink add, heavily teases The Foundation’s identity, it’s quite possible for the masked character to adopt a more notable role within Fortnite‘s narrative. This interesting, though unofficial unmasking of the character coincides with the upcoming launch of Fortnite Chapter 3, in an event called “The End,” taking place on December 4.

Unfortunately, details regarding the upcoming Chapter 3 are scarce; we can expect the game’s map to be redesigned, some skins removed, and others added. Those interested to find out whether The Foundation plays a crucial role in the fight against The Cube Queen should drop in on “The End,” starting December 4.
