Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is making its way to a new digital home. According to The Hollywood Reporter, after residing on the Canadian streamer Crave, the first season of the Star Trek spin-off will now premiere on Paramount+ Canada, signaling a shift in platforms for Star Trek fans in the Great White North.

Rather than Crave, Canadian fans can now stream the first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Paramount+ Canada.

The first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds debuted on the platform today. The move is meant to rectify Paramount+ Canada being the sole international service of its parent studio without original Star Trek content. Next, Paramount will move Crave’s extensive Star Trek catalog, consisting of approximately 800 TV episodes and 12 feature films, to Paramount+ Canada instead.

Paramount+ Canada subscribers will find their favorite Star Trek series following soon after. On August 8, Star Trek: The Next Generation will also join the ranks on Paramount+ Canada, followed by Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard on August 15, granting viewers the opportunity for catch-up viewing.

For traditional TV viewers, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and other Trek content will continue to find a home on the CTV Sci-Fi Channel, part of Bell Media, where episodes will air on the same day they premiere on Paramount+ in the United States.

Until recently, Star Trek series were exclusively available on Crave, a streaming platform also owned by Bell Media, but the shifting landscape of the Canadian TV market has led to this change.

The show takes viewers on a voyage of exploration throughout the galaxy, offering a unique perspective into the decade preceding the events of Star Trek: The Original Series.

The decision to bring Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and its captivating cast, featuring Anson Mount as Captain Pike, Ethan Peck as Spock, and Rebecca Romijn as Number One, to Paramount+ Canada was met with excitement among fans.

Originally introduced in the second season of Star Trek: Discovery, the new character/combinations garnered positive responses, paving the way for their own dedicated series.

Developed by Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, and Jenny Lumet, Strange New Worlds is the 11th Trek TV series. The show takes viewers on a voyage of exploration throughout the galaxy, offering a unique perspective into the decade preceding the events of Star Trek: The Original Series.
