See A Stunning Tricia Helfer At One Of The Biggest Sporting Events Of The Year

Science fiction is having a real renaissance of older properties, including Paramount’s Star Trek: Picard TV revival and Disney bringing Return of the Jedi back to theaters. Sadly, we haven’t gotten a new Battlestar Galactica TV show yet, which means fans will have to watch old Blu-Rays of the 2004 show for their nostalgia fix. However, to see a more modern vision of Tricia Helfer looking killer in red, just put down the remote and check out what she wore to the Kentucky Derby.
Like the many Galactica fans out there, Tricia Helfer knows that she looks stunning in red. This dress is a tad more conservative than what she famously wore on the hit show, but none of that dulls how radiant she looks in the bright color. And she caps this awesome ensemble off with a bold hat, helping her to fit in with the customary fashion of the Kentucky Derby.
It looks like Tricia Helfer took a page out of the Miley Cyrus playbook and kept her social media captions nice and simple. Her second tag, #kyderby, helps spell out for the more oblivious fans exactly where she is rocking the hell out of that red dress. The first caption, though (##unbridledcharitablefoundation), has more of a story behind it.
While we’re sure that Tricia Helfer enjoys watching a good horse race from time to time, the main reason she was in the area was to attend a gala party being thrown by the Unbridled Charitable Foundation. This year, the foundation celebrated ten years of its successful annual gala by raising money for Blessings in a Backpack, a charity that helps to provide needy children with school lunches throughout the year. She was surrounded by an eclectic mix of fellow celebrities, including one of our favorite overlooked Buffy the Vampire Slayer stars, D.B. Woodside.
As for Tricia Helfer, we’re glad that she found time in her busy schedule to attend this important event. In recent years, she has played Dracula on the TV show Van Helsing (maybe Woodside was secretly there to slay her) and had a memorable part in last year’s Alison Brie film Spin Me Round. She also popped up in a single memorable episode of The Rookie alongside series star (and fellow fan-favorite among sci-fi nerds) Nathan Fillion.
What’s next on Tricia Helfer’s radar, though? She’ll be starring in Occupation Rainfall: Chapter 2, which is confusingly the third entry in a franchise that previously brought Star Wars star Temuera Morrison and Star Trek star Jason Isaacs together. She’s also working on a quirky comedy called The Great Salish Heist that will give her an excuse to channel her often-hidden comedic chops.
In other words, it’s been a busy time for Tricia Helfer. And in the years since she hit the scene as a sexy Cylon, she has been one of the busiest working actors in Hollywood. We’re happy that she swung by the Kentucky Derby to prove that when it comes to Helfer looking stunning in red, all of this has happened before and all of this will happen again.
