Yellowstone is easily the most talked-about show currently, and naturally, everyone gets even more impatient when a season has ended on a cliffhanger. That is the case when it comes to Kayce Dutton, who is portrayed by Luke Grimes. Grimes was recently interviewed about his involvement on the show, and if his character’s vision quest had any sort of truth behind it. During the interview, Grimes alluded to knowing a bit more than the rest of his castmates, and he let it be known that series creator, Taylor Sheridan, absolutely knows how everything will end. According to the actor, “So Taylor and I have this understanding that he knows how this thing ends for everyone. He knows how it ends for Kayce, and he’s known since he wrote the beginning. He actually said that he knew the end first.”

Luke Grimes clearly offered some foreshadowing in the line that he delivered after the character of Kayce returned from his vision quest. However, fans aren’t sure about what that line means just yet. The line was “I saw the end for us.” Could that mean for Kayce and Monica? For the Dutton family? Grimes continued, “But Taylor and I sat down and he told me just enough about what those two paths looked like and just enough about that statement. It wasn’t enough that I know what’s going to happen or where he goes from here, but it was enough that I could say that line and have an idea of what I was talking about.” Clearly, Luke Grimes knows a bit about the ending of Yellowstone or at least has a base idea of some of the characters. That’s a clever idea to give Kayce the idea that he knows how things end and tell the actor in a sense. The character can then show some truth behind knowing what might happen.

It’s not uncommon or out of the realm of possibility that a series creator knows how everything will end. That is how creating a plot works most of the time. However, on the opposite hand, sometimes the show is still in its infancy, and creators don’t know exactly how their show will end. This is based on them not knowing how far their show will get. Yellowstone is currently about to start its fifth season. Not to mention the three spin-off shows that have now been birthed because of how popular Yellowstone is. The first spin-off, 1883, has wrapped up. However, the plan has long been rumored that 1932 is the continuation of that story, in a sense. It has also been revealed that a tie-in movie might bridge the gap between 1883 and 1932. Then there is 6666, which has yet to start.

Yellowstone is currently entering its fifth season, which has been reportedly split into two parts of seven episodes each. When shows are about to end, this is the usual move to pull, to keep fans on the edge of their seats. While it has not yet been revealed when the main series will end, the spin-offs are meant to exist at the same time to give more context to how the Dutton family rose to such prominence, and why they are cutthroat in their aims to achieve their goals in the show. However, it appears as if Kayce knows a bit about how the family might see their downfall. This is assuming that all the Dutton family fall under the crushing weight of their ambition and greed. Hopefully, fans of the series won’t have to wait too long to see what season five has in store for everyone.
