According to a report by Deadline, Stranger Things may see a death in its last season on Netflix, as series star Maya Hawke has confirmed that she wants her character Robin to die like many of the other minor characters have in previous seasons. Hawke has costarred on the series since 2019, and has quipped that she would love to die in the fifth season by having a “hero’s moment” of some sort. Season 4 star Joseph Quinn had a very similar moment at the tale end of the season when his character Eddie Munson saved the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana by sacrificing himself to the ultra evil Vecna, after rendering an epic performance played \of Metallica’s “Master of Puppets”.

Stranger Things stars like Joe Keery and Maya Hawke have not perished in the four seasons the show has streamed on Netflix. Even with some characters added and minor deaths occurring during these seasons, hardly any of the principal cast has seen their characters pass away while battling creatures from the Upside Down. That being said, series creators the Duffer Brothers don’t seem too interested in killing off any of their leads, mostly because they don’t feel that Stranger Things should be compared to something like Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon where every major character could be killed off at any point.

Not only does Stranger Things actor Maya Hawke want to see her character die by the end of the series, other performers from the series have expressed similar wishes for their characters. Millie Bobby Brown, who plays Eleven, came under fire recently when she publicly criticized the show’s lack of high-profile deaths, even offering to have her character killed off soon. The Duffer Brothers clapped back stating they stand by their decisions to not kill her character or many others, and that audiences shouldn’t expect otherwise in the upcoming final season.

Stranger Things recently wrapped its fourth season on Netflix and will be returning for a fifth and final season most likely in 2024. Other Stranger Things stars that act alongside Maya Hawke include Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, and Matthew Modine. Hawke is the daughter of once-powerhouse acting duo Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, starting her career as a model before moving into acting roles in hit projects like Quentin Tarantino’s 2019 epic Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and the upcoming 2023 drama Maestro, directed by and starring Bradley Cooper.

Ever since its debut on Netflix in 2016, Strangers Things has been one of the most talked about shows in recent memory. After multiple pop culture references conceived on the series, as well as an ensemble cast that includes Winona Ryder, Paul Reiser, and David Harbour, the show will be continuing on for another season after scoring record numbers for the subscription streaming service this summer.
