Have you ever wondered what it would be like to enter the life of a character in Star Wars? Well, that is now going to be the case for patrons as Walt Disney World has finally shown a sneak peek of their Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience. Guests will be treated to a two-night stay in the Starcruiser, where they will be deeply embedded in their own personal Star Wars story.

Imagineer Ann Morrow Johnson takes Sean Giambrone on a first-ever look at the amenities and adventures that guests will be allowed to experience. The most important of these amenities, of course, is doing actual lightsaber training with a training droid. If you’ve ever wanted or needed to be Luke Skywalker, now is your chance on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.

Ann Morrow Johnson has been working as an Imagineer for a decade and has likely worked extensively on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, so it would be only right for her to host the first-ever look into the two-night event that guests will be able to experience. From the lightsaber training, it looks as though guests will be taken on an adventure to discover their own quests and alliances within the Starcruiser.

Further reports indicate a fully immersive experience as guests are picked up and brought to the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser via a launch pod. The experience promises to have guests believing they’re actually in space, as they interact with eclectic characters, eat galactic cuisine, and even plot secret missions to further their own personal stories aboard the Starcruiser. Some secret missions may also lead certain guests to the deeper areas of the Engineering room.

There is no telling if there are sides to play, but in any classic Star Wars plot, if there are Jedi there will certainly have to be Sith as well. The timeline may be more updated with contemporary Star Wars continuity, so there could be the First Order to deal with instead of the classic Empire, but this experience on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is billed as being a fun diversion for anyone that is a fan of the saga.

The info released on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser also indicates even deeper immersion tied to Walt Disney World as guests will, “jump on a transport to the planet Batuu-where your mission continues at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!” There is no indication of all-in-one pricing that includes a trip to Walt Disney World, but this statement sure hints at that. The entire two-night adventure seems to be one of the most ambitious and hands-on Star Wars experiences that have even been attempted by Disney. Should it go off without a hitch, this is likely the next phase that Disneyland in California will attempt to replicate or likely is in the process of replicating. One thing is certain — handling a lightsaber in a battle on Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser sounds like it could be the ultimate role-playing experience for any dedicated Star Wars fan.
