Scream 6 Actor Says Their Character May Be Immortal
Scream 6 is underway, and a big-time character from the franchise has revealed that they might be immortal, as they continue to keep surviving.
Scream 6 is currently being worked on, and one of the legacy characters has an inkling that their character might be more than they seem. For those who have not kept up with the Scream continuity, look away now, as there will be some Scream 5 spoilers happening. The only legacy character that died in the last installment of the Scream franchise was Dewey Riley. That’s honestly not bad for being in five different horror films, and nearly making it out. However, another legacy character has confirmed her involvement and a shocking revelation about the character. That person is Courteney Cox, who portrays Gale Weathers in Scream 6. According to Cox, “I did not die so yes you will see me,” she says. “Gale’s pretty strong. She may not ever [die], but who knows!”
Gale Weathers has been stabbed and beaten up more than any other character in the Scream franchise. She continually finds ways to get almost killed by whoever is slashing up the patrons of Woodsboro, however, she always finds a way to survive. It would be quite hilarious if her character was meant to be the driving force to end all the attacks by these copycat killers. The most recent Halloween film, Halloween Kills did portray Michael Myers as this inhuman entity that cannot be simply killed. That could also be Courteney Cox in Scream 6. Well, at least her character might be immortal.
One of the biggest letdowns for the franchise is taht talks seemed to have soured with Neve Campbell, as she stated she is not returning for the next installment. With Campbell exiting, and her character remaining stagnant in the next film, this could be the time that Gale Weathers steps up. Courteney Cox may have to drive forward the plot of Scream 6 by herself. She is the last remaining legacy character. Dewey and Randy have now both been killed, leaving Gale and Sidney. Gale might have some vengeance in her heart too after Dewey was murdered by the last set of killers. She can now be the focal point of the new film. At least, it would presumably be her as the lead if Sidney Prescott is no longer a factor.
Scream 6 will feature Courteney Cox, and returning cast members Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Mason Gooding. Also, Hayden Panettiere is reprising her role as Kirby Reed from Scream 4. All the surviving people from Scream 5 have decided to leave Woodsboro behind and start a new chapter. Though we can assume that the Ghostface killer or killers will not be far behind. We hope there can be some positive talks about bringing back Neve Campbell, it sounds like she has given up on returning to the franchise. The new iteration is also filming, so we might not see Sidney after all.
Scream 6 is set for a March 31, 2023, release date. Though there is plenty of time to incorporate Sidney Prescott in some way, it looks like Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) will be taking the lead in Scream 6. We can’t wait to see what happens in the next film, though we are sure there is going to be plenty of stabbing.
