After taking DC by storm for so many years, Zack Snyder’s vision is back in action in a cosmic tale of survival in the Rebel Moon trailer. With just one month to go until Netflix unveils what’s being dubbed as Snyder’s take on the Star Wars universe, fans everywhere can feast their eyes on just a peek of the impressive performances and effects that await them in Part One: A Child of Fire.

Introducing audiences to their new favorite heroine, the Rebel Moon trailer opens on Sofia Boutella’s Kora, a young woman who’s been saved from a downed ship and is on a mission of atonement for her past transgressions.

Toting his impressive eye for futuristic technology from the jump, a dazzling spectacle of warships and otherworldly scenery are immediately on display in the opening moments of the trailer for Snyder’s latest project. Cutthroat and brutal, the lethal force known as the Imperium has arrived on the planet that Kora landed on and is there to wage a war against the mostly farming nation.

Revealing her true colors when they matter the most, Kora bravely steps up to defend her neighbors and signs them on for a mission of freedom that will need to extend over the entire galaxy. Seeking help from neighboring planets and anyone brave enough to step up to the challenge, Kora builds an army that will try its best to take down their foes.

With visual moments that only Zack Snyder can produce, this lengthy trailer for Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire teases a cosmic-hopping space odyssey that action and adventure fans won’t want to miss.

Along with Sofia Boutella in Rebel Moon’s leading role, the cast also includes the likes of Charlie Hunnam (Vikings), Michiel Huisman (The Haunting of Hill House), Jena Malone (the Hunger Games franchise), Ed Skrein (Game of Thrones), Djimon Hounsou (Gran Turismo), Fra Fee (Les Misérables), Doona Bae (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance), Ray Fisher (Justice League), Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs), and Cleopatra Coleman (The Last Man on Earth).

Not his first rodeo with the streamer, prior to working with Netflix on Rebel Moon, Zack Snyder paired with the platform in 2021 for the film, Army of the Dead. Recognizing that they had a good thing going, the studio snatched the director up to get him on board for the upcoming project. A wise move; not only will the film bring a new bit of fantasy and adventure storytelling to subscribers, but Snyder has a devoted built-in fan base who are certain to show up and support anything that he does.

After watching the trailer for Rebel Moon’s first part, many will likely want to catch it on the big screen to fully take in its impressive magnitude. Luckily, those living within traveling distance of certain cities will have that chance as the movie will dash into cinemas for a limited release on December 15. This will be followed by its Netflix drop, just in time for Christmas, on December 22.

But, don’t expect Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire to fully wrap up its plot. Drawing out what will be an epic tale, a second part is on the way in April 2024, meaning that audiences won’t have long to wait for the story to come to a thrilling conclusion in the new year.
