Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions have announced the cast for the upcoming live stage show, Stranger Things: The First Shadow. Based on the hit series starring Mille Bobby Brown, the show is set to premiere at the Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End on December 14, with previews beginning in just eight weeks.

Shane Attwooll plays Chief Hopper, with Kemi Awoderu as Sue Anderson and Chase Brown as Lonnie Byers. Christopher Buckley plays Bob Newby, with Ammar Duffus as Charles Sinclair, Gilles Geary as Ted Wheeler, and Florence Guy as Karen Childress.

Max Harwood stars as Allen Munson, with Michael Jibson as Victor Creel. Oscar Lloyd takes on the role of James Hopper, Jr., and Louis McCartney will portray Henry Creel. Isabella Pappas steps into the character of Joyce Maldonado, and Matthew Pidgeon will play Father Newby. Calum Ross will bring Walter Henderson to life, and Maisie Norma Seaton will play Claudia Henderson.

The creative force behind the Stranger Things series is back: the Duffer Brothers serve as creative producers for the stage adaptation.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow also features Patrick Vaill as Doctor Brenner, Lauren Ward as Virginia Creel, and Ella Karuna Williams as Patty Newby. Rounding out the cast are Tricia Adele-Turner, Lauren Arney, Reya-Nyomi Brown, Patricia Castro, Lydia Fraser, Isaac Gryn, Mark Hammersley, Tom Peters, Kingdom Sibanda, Tiana Simone, Danny Sykes, and Meesha Turner.

The creative force behind the Stranger Things series, the Duffer Brothers, serves as creative producers for this stage adaptation, with 21 Laps Entertainment as an associate producer. The First Shadow is a collaborative effort from the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne, and Kate Trefry, who is penning the dialogue. Stephen Daldry serves as director, with co-direction by Justin Martin.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is set in 1959 while Hawkins is still a regular town. A youthful Jim Hopper struggles with his car that won’t start, Bob Newby grapples with his sister’s indifference toward his radio show, and Joyce Maldonado yearns for nothing more than to graduate and escape this town’s confines.

One day, a new student named Henry Creel arrives. However, his family soon realizes that embarking on a new venture is far from simple, as the lingering shadows of the past tend to stick around for a long time. With a stellar cast and creative team, Stranger Things: The First Shadow is poised to capture the hearts of die-hard fans and newcomers to the upside-down world of the series.

Stranger Things, the wildly popular Netflix series, debuted in 2016. Set in the 1980s in the fictional Hawkins, Indiana, the show revolves around youngsters who embark on a quest to find their missing friend, Will Byers. Along the way, they encounter supernatural forces and a girl with psychokinetic abilities known as Eleven.

Throughout its four-season run, Stranger Things masterfully combines horror and science fiction elements. It has won several awards and has garnered a dedicated fanbase worldwide. Season five currently has no release date.
