Jamie Foxx’s fans have been gripped by fear, dreading the worst, since news of the actor’s near-death experience back in April. After months of silence, leaving fans only to guess what state the Django Unchained actor was in, Foxx is now speaking out about the health scare. In a video the actor shared to Instagram, Foxx said he “went through something I thought I would never go through,” but he’s back now and ready to work again.

Jamie Foxx spoke to fans for the first time in months, with a positive update on his healthscare, even cracking a few jokes.

Jamie Foxx looked incredibly pale in the video update, but he spoke calmly about the health scare and even threw in a few jokes, showing that he really is okay and is on the journey to recovery. The Oscar-winning actor didn’t shy away from showing emotion in the video update and spoke candidly and honestly about his experience. Though he still didn’t explain what type of medical emergency he went through, preferring to keep that information private between him and his family.

It’s been a rough three months for Jamie Foxx and his friends, family, and fans. On April 12, Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, shared that the actor had experienced a health scare and was in the hospital but that he was on his way to recovery. He addressed a few rumors that have been circulating about his state and soothed fans’ fears by showing that he is not blind or paralyzed. He went on to say that while he appreciated that his well-wishers wanted updates about his condition, he didn’t want his fans to see him in the hospital with “tubes running out of me” and preferred to wait until they could see him “laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie [or] television show.”

The actor took the opportunity to extend heartfelt gratitude to his sister, Deidra Dixon, and his daughter, Corinne, for playing a crucial role in saving his life. He also expressed profound appreciation for God and the dedicated medical professionals who provided exceptional care during his recovery. “They protected me,” Jamie Foxx emphasized, highlighting the importance of strong family bonds during challenging times.
