The GQ Men of the Year Awards were held earlier this week in London, and Alexandra Daddario was there looking as stunning as ever. The star of the upcoming Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches wore a silver sequined mini-dress coupled with pearl-embellished sandals. Daddario was one of a long list of celebrities at the awards including Sydney Sweeney, Andrew Garfield, Salma Hayek, James McAvoy, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and more.

Alexandra Daddario attended the awards, in part, to support her The White Lotus co-star Sydney Sweeney, who was one of this year’s honorees. Daddario congratulated the Euphoria star in her caption, along with thanking her stylists for helping her get ready. The evening’s other honorees included Andrew Garfield and Lee Jung-jae.

Eleven years older than her The White Lotus colleague, Alexandra Daddario sounded like an approving older sister of Sweeney while talking to GQ. “I’m so proud of her, she’s like a perfect package of everything and her work on Euphoria is incredible,” Daddario said.

Sydney Sweeney and Alexandra Daddario seem to be smashing through to the upper echelons of Hollywood around the same time. Just as Sweeney is landing more leading roles, Daddario is about to star in what AMC is no doubt hoping will be their next version of The Walking Dead. She will play the lead in AMC+’s upcoming series Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches.

Alexandra Daddario in Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches

Alexandra Daddario plays Rowan Fielding in the series; a neurosurgeon who discovers she is part of a long family line of powerful witches. Considering the obvious connections including the fact that the characters from both series appeared in each others’ stories in the source material, Daddario’s series has lots of crossover potential with Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire. With The Walking Dead ramping down, AMC is no doubt hoping the adaptations of the late Anne Rice’s work will prove to support their next successful franchise.

Daddario isn’t going to be a stranger to the big screen either. Alexandra Daddario’s next feature role has her collaborating with Tommy Dorfman. Dorfman is better known as the actress who plays Ryan Shaver on Netflix‘s 13 Reasons Why. She’ll make her feature directorial debut with I Wish You All the Best and Daddario is starring.

When Deadline reported on Alexandra Daddario’s casting in October, the outlet wrote that the film is based on the 2019 novel of the same name by Mason Deaver. The story is about a non-binary teen who moves in with their sister after their parents kick them out. Dorfman is writing and directing the film.

It isn’t clear yet what role Alexandra Daddario will take in I Wish You All the Best. The actress will be joined in the cast by Amy Landecker (A Serious Man), Brian Michael Smith (9-1-1: Lone Star), Corey Fogelmanis (Ma), Judson Mills (Westworld), Lexi Underwood (Little Fires Everywhere) and more.
