The X-Files Revealing More About Alien Conspiracy Than Ever Before
The X-Files is one of the best and most beloved sci-fi series of all time, and fans will always appreciate ways to dive deeper into the lore of the show. Now, one of the best pieces of spin-off media to come from the show is getting a sequel. Author Paul Terry created an awesome book in 2020 titled The X-Files: The Official Archives: Cryptids, Biological Anomalies, and Parapsychic Phenomena, and now the second volume, titled The Official Archives: Volume II: Extraterrestrial Activity and the Syndicate, will give fans even more detailed case files, field reports, autopsies, photos, and newspaper clippings to pore over (via Gizmodo).

The X-Files: The Official Archives: Volume II: Extraterrestrial Activity and the Syndicate, like its predecessor, dives deeper into some of Agents Dana Scully and Fox Mulder’s cases throughout the series. The book makes realistic-looking case files like you would expect to see Mulder and Scully turn into the head brass at the FBI. This volume specifically dives into the two’s close encounters with aliens and the Syndicate organization.

The X-Files: The Official Archives: Volume II: Extraterrestrial Activity and the Syndicate seems like the perfect thing for fans of the series who can’t get enough of Mulder and Scully’s supernatural adventures. According to the synopsis, fans will get to see deeper dives into cases from popular episodes like “Deep Throat,” “Jose Chung’s from Outer Space,” “Fight the Future,” “Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man,” and more. In Gizmodo’s interview with author Paul Terry, he also mentions that the second volume will be more “immersive” and that it will cover “the entire mythology—from seasons one all the way through to season 11,” along with some “surprises.”
Terry gave a little more insight into what this immersive experience might look like, saying that “while Agent Leyla Harrison is collating and preserving the reports and evidence, let’s just say that some strange things happen.” While Terry authors the book, the case files are being put together by Agent Harrison in the world of The X-Files, so it sounds like there may be an additional mystery at play for fans who read between the lines of the archives. It sounds like this book is shaping up to be the perfect experience for fans of the show, much like the first volume but with even more going for it.
At this time, there are no solid plans for new spin-offs of The X-Files in the future.
The X-Files was created by Chris Carter and followed Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) as they investigated the unsolved cases in the FBI’s files that involved paranormal phenomena. The show was well-reviewed throughout its eleven seasons for its interesting sci-fi tales and the dynamic between Mulder and Scully, with Mulder being the conspiracy theorist and Scully being the skeptic. While the show started out with more of a cult following, it grew into one of the most beloved sci-fi TV shows of all time.
At this time, there are no solid plans for new spin-offs of The X-Files in the future. Gillian Anderson also specifically stated that the revival’s tenth and eleventh seasons would be her last time playing Scully. Fortunately, we still have fans like Paul Terry making fantastic books like The Official Archives: Volume II: Extraterrestrial Activity and the Syndicate, which readers will be able to pick up in Fall 2024.
