Avengers: Endgame has now officially entered its second anniversary. The end of the film signified the ending of many things. Robert Downey Jr time as Iron Man was officially up as well as Chris Evans’s time as Captain America. Though the film saw the end of both these heroes and the actors that portrayed them, their memories still live on. A fan recently asked for one of those memories, as Gwyneth Paltrow was tasked with providing a behind-the-scenes photo on her Instagram story. She granted the fan’s request by posting a picture of herself as Pepper Potts next to Tony Stark while he was hospitalized after floating in space. Only, this BTS photo showed what he looked like in his normal state. You can see the photo below:

The photo was posted on Gwyneth Paltrow’s Instagram story, and it seems that she understood the assignment a little too well. While this photo is certainly as behind the scenes as one could get, the fan might have been asking for a bit more about the pair in full costume. This moment was well documented in the film, as Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) was stuck in a hospital bed after being stuck in space for too long. Stark and Nebula had left Titan to return to Earth after the blip, only he was just about to die before being rescued by Captain Marvel. Though he was alive, he was severely malnourished. His appearance was also digitally made this way for the film. The above picture just shows Downey in normal health, while he was in the hospital bed for the scenes.

There may have been more scenes that gave context for the Pepper Potts and Tony Stark relationship to develop further, but it was only a brief interaction that saw Robert Downey look frail as ever in the hospital scenes. Endgame was already a long film, so there is likely a plethora of scenes that didn’t make the final cut. Though we did get to see a much more mature version of Stark, who now had a daughter. Though he made the ultimate sacrifice at the end of the film, we still love him 3000. What’s interesting is that there has not been any mention if Gwyneth Paltrow is going to reprise her role as Pepper Potts. She is running Stark Industries at this current point in the MCU, and that still should play a massive role in the future. One such way she could reappear is when Armor Wars makes its debut on Disney+. This new series is set to follow Stark Tech falling into the wrong hands. Don Cheadle will reprise his role as James Rhoades aka War Machine, so maybe Paltrow will play some significant part again.

Avengers: Endgame was the final chapter that saw the original Avengers team suited up together for one last final run at the mad titan, Thanos. Their victory also saw the ending of two of the most beloved heroes in the entirety of the MCU. It’s fantastic to see that Gwyneth Paltrow would share such a personal photo with the fanbase. While she understood completely what behind-the-scenes met, maybe next time we get to see Potts and Stark in Iron Man armor again.
