Feeling the urge to be generous while simultaneously picking up some awesome science fiction doodads to display in your home? Allow us to introduce you to the As You Wish Helmet Project, a charity event that has enlisted artists to “reimagine” the iconic helmets worn by Boba Fett and the Star Wars prequels’ Clone Troopers. The helmets are being auctioned off via eBay beginning this Thursday, August 23rd, and all proceeds will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

So, just what does “reimagining” a Boba Fett helmet mean, exactly? Well, there’s this sucker, for example. Mashing together Fett’s helmet with the look of the robotic Cylons from Battlestar Galactica, the Cylon Fett helmet was created by Dana Gasser of ANOVOS Productions. You can see more about its construction right here.

Or there’s this one, entitled “Epimetheus Fett,” which mashes up Boba’s snazzy hat with H.R. Giger’s unforgettable Alien designs. This one was created by artist Jon Wollack, and the build is detailed here.

Wollack’s design wasn’t the only one to incorporate a bit of Giger into the mix. This freaky bastard below is called the “HRG Trooper.” Artist Thomas Spanos‘ design incorporates Giger’s xenomorph design, pieces of a Clone Trooper’s helmet, bits of Darth Vader’s helmet, and even part of Vader’s lightsaber.

Finally, there’s this design by Carolyn Finken and Michael O’Brian of Legacy Effects. Dubbed “The Scavenger,” it shows Fett’s helmet being repurposed by some enterprising sea life. Hey, at least it’s not a Sarlacc…
