Tom Holland’s Spider-Man To Ditch Zendaya And Date Firestar In Next Movie?
Could we see Tom Holland and Zendaya break up in Spider-Man 4? Well, a new rumor is claiming Peter Parker will start dating a mutant named Firestar.
The last time that we saw Peter Parker (Tom Holland), he had finally achieved his goal of asking Doctor Strange to make everyone forget that they knew Parker is Spider-Man, and basically forget who he was altogether. This act of heroism and sacrifice was to protect those around him, especially the lives of Ned and MJ (Zendaya), who had come into danger since learning about Peter’s superhero alter ego. Now, there are rumors spreading that Parker is going to be ditching MJ for a new love interest in Spider-Man 4. That love interest is none other than Firestar, who is a mutant. Firestar, Iceman, and Spider-Man have worked together plenty, but the mutant element has not yet been fully introduced into the MCU. The first mutant to appear was Professor Xavier in Doctor Strange 2. Technically, Wanda’s kids are mutants that go by the names Wiccan and Speed, but they had not been introduced as mutants in WandaVision or Doctor Strange 2. However, should this rumor be true, then Peter (Tom Holland) will be one of the first MCU characters to encounter a mutant. MJ (Zendaya) has forgotten who Peter Parker is, so this could be how the future movies move on past the character as well. Though Mary Jane is always a classic love interest of Spider-Man, there is also Gwen Stacy and Firestar to think about.
Tom Holland and Zendaya have been the best parts of the newer Spider-Man trilogy, but we all know that most actors tend to want to move on after portraying a character for longer than 10 years. Holland hasn’t quite reached that level, but he has long been speaking about taking a break after appearing as Peter Parker. The same might be said for Zendaya, who has exploded in popularity via her hit show on HBO, Euphoria. She might become a bit too busy with other endeavors and want to branch out from portraying MJ. Jon Watts could cleverly allow Parker to move past MJ while seeking love from Firestar in the new Spider-Man film.
Spider-Man 4 is meant to reunite Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalan, and director Jon Watts. However, we are not sure where the franchise is going to go past this film. As previously mentioned, Holland has been hinting at wanting to step away from the character of Peter Parker for some time. Watts could allow MJ to leave the franchise gracefully, the same as Holland’s version of Parker. This could be enacted by bringing Miles Morales into the equation.
Tom Holland and Zendaya will be reuniting for one final Spider-Man film, and we will all have to wait and see what happens in the next Web Head venture. This rumor that Parker would be dating Firestar also means that mutants are going to be introduced more, or even before Spider-Man 4 comes out. Hopefully, the latter is true.
