Emma Stone Jeopardy

Emma Stone has won Oscar gold, but her dream is to win a different kind of prize. After winning a Golden Globe for her latest film, Poor Things, Stone appeared on the Variety Award Circuit Podcast, where she revealed that she wants to appear as a contestant on Jeopardy. Specifically, she wants to appear on the classic edition of the show and not the Celebrity edition.

Emma Stone said, “I apply every June,” adding, “I don’t want to go on Celebrity Jeopardy.” Stone further explained, “I want to earn my stripes,” adding that she watches every night and marks down how many answers she gets right. If the Jeopardy producers are listening, they should definitely get Stone on.

Emma Stone could undoubtedly get on Celebrity Jeopardy if she wanted to, but it sounds like she wants a bit more of a challenge. While Celebrity Jeopardy isn’t necessarily easy, it’s fair to say the questions aren’t as difficult as the flagship show. For a true trivia connoisseur, which Stone seems to be, the classic version of the show would be a more satisfying experience.

Still, it would be great to see Emma Stone on Celebrity Jeopardy, and maybe that could help her get her foot in the door for the classic version of the show. Celebrity Jeopardy is a bit looser than the classic edition, as celebrities joke around with each other as they compete for their chosen charities. The latest season of Celebrity Jeopardy is currently airing, and actor/comedian Lisa Ann Walter and sports host Katie Nolan have both cemented their spots in the finals, with Rachel Dratch, Mo Racca, and Heather McMahan competing for the final spot on Tuesday.

Although Emma Stone would undoubtedly find a way to fit Jeopardy into her schedule, she may be a little too busy at the moment. Stone had a fantastic 2023, starring in the critically acclaimed projects Poor Things and The Curse. Poor Things already nabbed Stone a Golden Globe, and some Oscar nominations are surely on the way as well.

Poor Things is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and written by Tony McNamara, based on the novel by Alasdair Gray. It follows a woman named Bella Baxter (Stone), who is brought back to life by a scientist (Willem Dafoe). Finding herself newly liberated, she takes off on a journey to explore the world alongside a lawyer (Mark Ruffalo).

Emma Stone and director Yorgos Lanthimos are seeking to recapture the Poor Things magic again with their upcoming film Kinds of Kindness. Although plot details are being kept under wraps, Stone described the movie as sort of an “anthology, with three short films.” The rest of the star-studded cast for Kinds of Kindness includes Willem Dafoe, Jesse Plemons, Margaret Qualley, and Hong Chau.

With Emma Stone previously being nominated for her work with Lanthimos in The Favourite and Poor Things essentially being a lock for an Oscar nom, it’ll be interesting to see if they can go three for three in Kinds of Kindness. Hopefully, we’ll also get to see Stone add a Jeopardy appearance to her upcoming projects. You can check out Poor Things in theaters now.
