History Of Star Wars On TV
Star Wars has made numerous attempts at jumping to television and making a splash in the world of entertainment news. It began with the laughably bad holiday special. That was followed by two Ewok adventure telefilms and even a droid-focused Saturday morning cartoon series.
Aside from some marginally successful animated shows like Clone Wars, none of it really worked until November 12, 2019, when The Mandalorian debuted on Disney’s new streaming network, Disney+. The Pedro Pascal-led series has launched an entire universe of Star Wars series on the streaming platform.
Now Star Wars is a streaming juggernaut, with top-rated television shows and news of new shows being released monthly.
