The official release date for Riddick may not be until September 6th, but by the time that day rolls around, star Vin Diesel may have already shown us everything there is to show. Seriously, at the rate at which he’s unleashing new photos from the film, we’ll be able to put them all together like a flipbook before too long.

True to form, the beefy action hero took to his personal Facebook page to let fly this most recent image from the film. After Chronicles of Riddick underperformed at the box office, the future of the franchise was in doubt. But lack of interest and lack of funds weren’t going to dissuade Diesel and director David Twohy, and the next chapter in the story that began with Pitch Black will finally see the light of day.

Riddick finds the titular space outlaw stranded on desolate surface of a sun-bleached planet. While it initially appears uninhabited, a savage species of creatures call this barren rock home, and before long, Riddick is in the fight of his life. His only avenue of escape is to reveal his location to the string of mercenaries who track him across the universe, hoping for a big payday. When they arrive, he encounters a vicious new breed of bounty hunter, as well as a familiar face looking for something more personal.

So far, all the pictures we’ve seen have been of Diesel alone. This time around, you get a glimpse of him locked in mortal combat with former professional wrestler Dave Bautista, who presumably plays a mercenary.

Riddick also stars Katee Sackhoff, Bokeem Woodbine, and Karl Urban.
