Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has come to be loved by a vast majority of fans, however, many are still fond of the trilogy of Spider-Man movies that Tobey Maguire starred in back in the early part of the millennia and have been longing to see the actor reprise his role. Now, famed deepfake artist, Shamook, who was hired at Disney for his impressively flawless work, has created what many fans have been hoping for by placing Tobey Maguire in the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

The work that Shamook did looks astoundingly real, just as if Tobey Maguire was picking up right where he left off. Fans can take a look at the full 30-second clip featuring Tobey Maguire as Spiderman below.

Tobey Maguire first portrayed Peter Parker in 2002 in Spider-Man and followed that up with two subsequent moves, Spider-Man 2 (2004), and Spider-Man 3 (2007). Tobey Maguire’s initial Spider-Man movie broke a multitude of records upon its premiere. In 2002, taking comic book characters and their stories and translating them into live-action theatrical releases was something that was still in its infancy. However, when Spider-Man debuted it became the first movie to ever top $100 million at the box office during its opening weekend. It would eventually garner over a staggering $825 million at the box office. The success of the first film led to two sequels which also performed impressively well at the box office.

The extraordinary success of the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man Trilogy is, arguably, what spawned the comic-book to live-action movie revolution that has transpired over the past two decades and still continues to thrive. Additionally, Tobey Maguire’s role as Spider-Man has forever solidified him as the web-slinger in the hearts and minds of many fans, and ever since Tobey Maguire left the role behind in 2007 fans have been wondering if they would ever actually get to see him on screen again as Peter Parker. In recent months, there have been rumors that he could possibly return as the titular hero in a Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sequel, but at this point, any possibility of him returning to the role has not been confirmed.

It still remains to be seen whether or not Tobey Maguire will ever return as Spider-Man. However, what fans can look forward to is seeing him in another upcoming, highly-anticipated movieBabylon (2023). According to Tobey Maguire’s IMDb, the actor has not been seen on screen since 2014. However, Babylon was enticing enough to lure the semi-retired actor out of retirement. At this point, very little is known about what the movie could entail, other than that it could possibly be a period piece set in Hollywood. Yet, it is rounded out by an impressive star-studded cast, including but not limited to Brad Pitt, Samara Weaving, Jean Smart, Margot Robbie, Luke Haas, Eric Roberts, Flea, Li Jin Li, Spike Jonze, which is reason enough to eagerly anticipate its release. Babylon is currently expected to hit theaters on January 6, 2023.
