The fourth season of Stranger Things concluded last July. It set the stage for a final showdown between our favorite heroes of Hawkins, and the powerful and menacing Vecna. Although the upcoming fifth season of Netflix’s wildly popular series will serve as the show’s last, one cast member was fortunate enough to score a prop from the set to serve as a reminder of her time on the program. According to Movie Web, Sadie Sink is now in possession of the portable Walkman cassette player her character used to fend off the show’s latest baddie.

Even though Max (Sadie Sink) was left in extremely rough shape at the end of the show’s two-part fourth season, she deserves credit for fending off Vecna for as long as she did. The ruthless antagonist was able to use his telepathic powers to enter his victim’s thoughts and attack them remotely from the Upside Down. But Max managed to escape his possession by blasting her favorite song through the headphones attached to her cassette player. While the catchy tune “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush wasn’t enough to defeat Vecna, it certainly served as a way to slow him down.

During an interview with British Vogue, Sadie Sink explained how she was able to take home the Walkman her character used to repeatedly fend off the new big bad monster on the show. While many actors have had to resort to stealing in order to obtain a piece of memorabilia from the set of a film or television series, the 20-year-old star revealed that all she had to do was beg. She said, “I’ve never stolen anything from set, but I politely begged to take home the Walkman my character Max uses in season four of Stranger Things.”

Introduced back in Season 2, Max played a pivotal role in the most recent installment of the hit Netflix series. Although fans believe the beloved character will snap out of the comatose state she was left in at the end of the show’s fourth season, Sadie Sink isn’t so sure. “Spoiler-free, just with the way my character ended in Season 4, I have no idea what is going to happen,” she said.

Regardless of the fate of her character, Sadie Sink has enjoyed her time on the show and admits it will be difficult to say goodbye. “These kids, this entire cast and crew, it’s family,” she said. “It’s scary and sad, but I think it’s exciting to kind of move on to the next chapter, I guess.”

In addition to Sadie Sink, Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, and the rest of the original Hawkins gang are set to return for Season 5 of Stranger Things. Although no premiere date has been set, the Duffer brothers have assured fans that the wait for the final season will be much shorter than the three-year gap between seasons 3 and 4. With filming scheduled to begin this May, a mid-to-late 2024 release date isn’t out of the question.

Meanwhile, Sadie Sink continues to wow critics and audiences with her performance in Darren Aronofsky’s acclaimed drama The Whale. In the film, she plays the daughter of a reclusive, morbidly obese English teacher (Brendan Fraser) who attempts to reconnect with her. Her turn in the picture earned her a nomination at this year’s Critics Choice Awards for Best Young Actor/Actress.
