With the number of Eggo waffles Eleven has enjoyed throughout Stranger Things, you would think Millie Bobby Brown loves the popular breakfast food. Apparently, the opposite is true, as Brown humorously revealed in an interview that she hates waffles. In fact, she even admitted that in her waffle-eating scenes she “had a little spit bucket next to me, and I’d spit into it,” adding “because I couldn’t swallow the waffles because I’d gag (via MovieWeb).”

Eating Eggo waffles was definitely a defining character quirk for Eleven in the early seasons of Stranger Things. One of the most iconic images is Eleven walking out of a supermarket with her arms full of stolen waffles, leading to tons of Halloween costumes and increased sales of Eggo waffles. It’s unfortunate for Millie Bobby Brown that the endearing quirk was so popular amongst fans, as it likely inspired the Duffer Brothers to continue adding Eggo scenes to future seasons.

The Stranger Things universe is in a much different place than it was back when El had her shaved head and stolen Eggo waffles. The latest season saw the entirety of the Upside Down breaking through to Hawkins, so there likely won’t be a lot of time to enjoy some waffles. Millie Bobby Brown probably doesn’t have a problem with that.

The fourth season of Stranger Things also introduced us to the terrifying villain Vecna, who will likely be returning to haunt the Hawkins gang yet again. The upcoming fifth season of Stranger Things will also be its final season, so we’ll have to wait and see if they can sneak more waffle scenes in before it’s all over. Along with Millie Bobby Brown, other returning actors in Season 5 will be Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Priya Ferguson, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Sadie Sink, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, and Maya Hawke.

While Season 5 of Stranger Things may be the last time we see Millie Bobby Brown in her breakout role, there are plans for a spin-off. The Duffer Brothers will once again be on board as creators and have revealed that it will be very different than the flagship series. It’ll be interesting to see which direction they decide to take the universe without the characters everyone knows and loves.

Before that spin-off comes to fruition, we’ll get to see the Duffer Brothers end their first story sometime in the future. Apparently, filming for the fifth season won’t begin until May, so it’s probably a safe bet that we won’t be seeing the season in 2023. Fortunately, Millie Bobby Brown has projects you can check out until the return of her beloved Netflix series.

You can jump over to Netflix now to watch all four seasons of Stranger Things or you can check out Millie Bobby Brown’s Enola Holmes 2. Enola Holmes 2 features Brown returning as the titular sister of Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill) as she takes on a case of a missing girl. Along with Brown and Cavill, the project also stars David Thewlis, Louis Partridge, Susan Wokoma, Adeel Akhtar, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Helena Bonham Carter, Himesh Patel, Hannah Dodd, and more.
