Most everyone knows the name, Pete Davidson; the Saturday Night Live comedian who has also somehow been linked to nearly half of today’s hottest actresses and celebs. But many aren’t sure about the inspiration and tragedy behind the quirky actor’s life. This would come from his father, but who exactly is Pete Davidson’s dad?

Pete Davidson’s Dad Was Scott Davidson, A NYC Firefighter, And 9/11 Casualty

So this leads us to the big question again: Who is Pete Davidson’s dad? Well to start, Pete’s father was Scott Davidson. According to reports from The Sun, he graduated from the College of Staten Island with a bachelor’s degree in history becoming a firefighter in New York City.

Being a firefighter was said to be a lifelong dream of Pete Davidson’s dad. But at the young age of 33, Scott would perish doing what he loved. He was one of the nearly 3,000 casualties of the terrorist attack on 9/11.

Davidson plays Scott Carlin in the film. However, the movie finds Pete playing an alternative version of his real-life self. The plot follows Scott who unlike Pete never ends up leaving Staten Island (where Davidson was born and raised).

The character deals with trauma he has faced all of his life. This is also something relatable to Pete himself, and what he has dealt with. Pete Davidson’s dad (also named Scott) suffered an untimely death, and this movie was a way for Pete to deal with that.

He even opened up to Sky News about this. Showing how the character related to him, he insinuated that the film was a way for him to move on. “One of the main reasons why I wanted to make this movie and tell this story was because I wanted this chapter in my life to be closed,” he said.

Pete Dreams Of Becoming A Father Himself Because Of His Love For His Dad

Often talking about how great Pete Davidson’s dad was, the young actor says that his father continues to inspire him. Davidson discussed his father and his impact on Kevin Hart’s talk show, Hart to Heart. Despite everything he went through, Pete himself longs to have children of his own someday and do as great of a job at fatherhood as he says his father did.

“I’m definitely a family guy… My favorite thing ever which I have yet to achieve is I want to have a kid. That’s like my dream… It would be so fun, dress up little dude. I’m so excited for that chapter. That’s kinda what I’m preparing for now is trying to be as good as a dude and develop and get better. So, when that happens, it’s easier.

Pete Davidson has yet to fulfill that aspiration and become a dad. He may have had the chance to when he was still linked to Kim Kardashian, but given the socialite already has four children of her own with ex-Kanye West, that was likely never to happen. And after their split, the SNL alumni appears to be laying low and isn’t known to be dating anyone.

Now that Pete Davidson has worked out his demons and come to terms with the tragic death of his dad, he looks to be working on his career. It was just announced that he has joined the cast of the upcoming film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. For the seventh installment in the action franchise, Davidson will voice the autobot, Mirage.

Pete Davidson Got His Start On Saturday Night Live

To understand the man who sired Kim Kardashian’s most recent fling, let’s first look at how Pete Davidson got to be such a major media obsession. Davidson got his big break when he joined the SNL cast at 20 years old. In between, he has been linked to a plethora of A-list celebs and has even made his way into Hollywood.

His first major relationship was with singer Ariana Grande, whom he dated for nearly six months in 2018. He was also linked to Underworld’s gorgeous protagonist, Kate Beckinsale. But his most recent, and most shocking hook up was with Kim Kardashian, although the couple recently called it quits.

2022’s 48th season of SNL would be Pete’s eighth and final stint on the show. In the last few years, he has focused on building his career on the big screen in films like Suicide Squad, Marmaduke, and his hit, The King of Staten Island. This would be his breakthrough film, but it also would be the introduction to Pete Davidson’s dad.
