When you’re rich, famous, and successful, you can pretty much do whatever you want. Take Michael Jordan for instance. An incredible basketball player, Jordan went on to train with the Chicago White Sox before joining the minor league team, The Birmingham Barons, and playing for the Alabama-based team for one season. And while his baseball skills weren’t quite that of his basketball talents, no one was going to tell Michael Jordan that he couldn’t play the game. We bet you’re wondering where this is going. Well, yesterday, actress Kate Hudson announced via her Instagram account that she is going to try her hand at singing.

That’s right, How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days star Kate Hudson is starting a music career. To be fair, as any fan of the aforementioned film knows, the star did sing Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” with her co-star Matthew McConaughey in the film in a bring-the-house down moment, so there’s that. She also gave fans a demonstration of her pipes just last year in the film Music where she starred in the Sia-created and directed feature alongside Leslie Odom Jr. and Maddie Ziegler. Hudson has since appeared on the Jimmy Fallon NBC game show, That’s My Jam, where she performed her own take on pop superstar Ariana Grande’s smash hit, “7 Rings,” gaining kudos from the singing aficionado herself.

Accompanying her Instagram post, Kate Hudson shared two photos of her absolutely rocking it out in a rehearsal room complete with a guitarist, drummer, and videographer. You can see that the Fool’s Gold star is giving it her all and really serious about this change of career as she concentrates on the task at hand and goes into full-on rock star poses. Accompanying the post is a caption that reads, “Finally realizing it’s time to say f#%! it and saaaannngg!!!!!” Celebrating and supporting their friend, fellow celebs including Hilary Swank and Janelle Monae sounded off in the comments, sharing their excitement for Hudson’s big move. Even Glennon Doyle, Rachel Zoe, and Michelle Pfeiffer poured on the compliments, pumped to hear Hudson’s finished product.

Along with Music, art has been imitating life for Kate Hudson for years including her starring role in 2000’s cult favorite, Almost Famous. In it, Hudson plays a rock n’ roll groupie named Penny Lane who is obsessed with staying close to her favorite band while they’re on tour. Although things take quite a turn for Penny Lane in the middle of the film, she comes out on top with Hudson’s performance of the band chaser celebrated as one of her best yet.

Looking back on it, music-based projects and films have just always been in Kate Hudson’s blood, so she’s set to shine in her new career. While many celebs get laughed off the stage (or field) in their attempts at chasing other dreams, we’re thinking Hudson’s pursuit is going to be a good one and we can’t wait to hear what she’s been coming up with. Judging by the camera person on set with her in the Instagram photos, it looks like we may catch a glimpse sometime soon.
