Duck Dynasty Movie Is Heading To Theaters
A Duck Dynasty movie called The Blind is set for a theatrical release on September 22, 2023.
It appears that the Duck Dynasty family is returning once again, as there is a biopic movie being developed that will see a theatrical release, which is called The Blind. This new movie will follow the life of the patriarch of the Robertson family, Phil Robertson. The movie is meant to take the audience through a journey of Phil’s life, as corrects the shame of his past, addiction, and complicated family dynamics, and eventually finds redemption in an unlikely place.
William Robertson spoke about the upcoming Duck Dynasty movie and stated that they only wished for the movie to be real. He also stated that “The transformation of Phil proves that anyone can change and that there is always hope.” We are not sure if the movie is going to cover the high controversy that took place in 2013 when Phil was suspended from the show for his anti-gay and racist comments, but time will tell.
The Duck Dynasty biopic aka The Blind is meant to travel through Phil Robertson’s life from the 1960s Deep South and is being shot on location in Lousiana. The movie is being directed by Andrew Hyatt, who famously directed Paul, Apostle of Christ, and Full Of Grace. Starring in the biopic is Aron Von Andrian, Amelia Eve, Brielle Robillard, and Matthew Erick White. Aron Von Andrian will be portraying Phil Robertson in The Blind.
This new Duck Dynasty biopic is meant to continue the story of a family that saw massive success when their show premiered on A&E. Through 11 seasons the series would go on to set multiple records for most-watched episodes, most-watched series, and the most-watched telecast in A&E history. Many of the episodes would draw in over 9 million viewers, with one season averaging around 9.4 million viewers each week, which are insane numbers.
Duck Dynasty ran from 2012 to 2017, making most of the members of the Robertson family far richer than they had been when they made their duck-calling tool empire. The members of the family would go on to open restaurants, release merch, have live events, and open restaurants, all of which were successful because of how massive the series was as a reality television program. We are not sure how huge this movie is going to be, but there could be some die-hard Duck Dynasty fans still out there.
A spinoff and spiritual successor to Duck Dynasty started in the summer of this year, as brothers Jace and Jep Robertson started Duck Family Treasure. This new series saw the men of the Robertson family attempt to locate buried treasure while being educated about historical areas by history expert, Murry Crowe. There has not yet been any mention if this series is going to be receiving a second season.
While the buzz of Duck Dynasty might have worn off considering it’s been five years since the original show was on the air, it might be time to bring it all back. The Blind is set to hit theaters on September 22, 2023, and will do more of a deep dive into Phil Robertson’s life and troubles growing up. We wouldn’t expect a series revival to come after the movie, but crazier things have happened.
