A piece of musical history is receiving a digital release for the first time as, per Billboard, The Jackson 5’s song, “Big Boy (One-derful Version),” will soon become available for fans to snatch up during a limited release. The tune’s drop won’t be one for lifelong Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 fans to miss out on as it was the very first time that Jackson’s voice was recorded onto a tape and also the premiere recording from his family band.

Michael Jackson and Jackson 5 fans can get their hands and ears on the release beginning today, Thursday, December 7, but interested parties will want to act fast as it will just be available for a limited window. Now owned by Recordpool, “Big Boy (One-derful Version)” will arrive in a package from the Swedish music and royalty marketplace, anotherblock.

It’s been an exciting time to be a fan of the late Michael Jackson as, just a few weeks ago, it was revealed that the King of Pop’s most legendary album would be the subject of a documentary, titled Thriller 40.

For $25, users of the platform will not only receive the hit song but will also feast their eyes on pictures of the master tape, downloadable song stems, and even a digital B-side that will include recordings of “Michael the Lover” and “My Girl.”

If you really want to go crazy for yourself or the Michael Jackson lover in your life (the holidays are just around the corner, after all), there will also be a $100 option dubbed the “limited edition.”

This piece not only comes with everything from the cheaper platform but adds a slew of other bonus material into the price including “Big Boy (Steeltown Version),” “We Don’t Have to Be Over 21 (To Fall in Love,” “You’ve Changed,” “Tracks of My Tears,” “Lonely Heart,” “Saturday Night at the Movies,” “Stormy Monday,” and “Under the Boardwalk.” Prospective buyers will have four days (beginning today) to snag their copies.

Training Day director, Antoine Fuqua, is also hard at work developing a dramatized telling of the singer’s life.

It’s been an exciting time to be a fan of the late Michael Jackson as, just a few weeks ago, it was revealed that the King of Pop’s most legendary album would be the subject of a documentary, titled Thriller 40. Uncovering the legacy behind Jackson’s biggest record of all time, Thriller, the film will focus on songs like “Billie Jean,” “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing),” and the title track, pulling fans behind the scenes of not just the album’s creation but also that of music videos.

Featuring interviews with those closest to the iconic artist, the film will be packed with a slew of behind-the-scenes footage. The title is now available to stream on Paramount+.

Aside from the special digital release of “Big Boy (One-derful Version)” and the documentary, The Equalizer franchise and Training Day director, Antoine Fuqua, is also hard at work developing a dramatized telling of the singer’s life.

Starring Michael Jackson’s real-life nephew, Jaafar Jackson, as the moonwalking singer, the film will tell the story of Jackson’s upbringing and younger years in the music industry. Tapping a talented team for such a big undertaking, Fuqua has the help of The Aviator and Gladiator’s writer, John Logan, to pen the production with Bohemian Rhapsody’s Graham King producing.
