Kate Beckinsale definitely has a pun intended in her latest Instagram post in which her Persian cat, Clive, makes a brief cameo appearance. On Sunday, the 48-year-old Underworld actress took to Instagram where she shared a funny video of herself squatting on the ground in an elegant and glammed-up black bouffant dress. The frills at the bottom perfectly masked her little friend who poked out from underneath her when she briefly lifted the dress to show her fans what was underneath. Adding to the humor is the fact that Clive seems to be wearing some kind of incredibly bougie cat sweater, apparently joining mom Kate Beckinsale in playing dress-up for the evening.
Kate Beckinsale clearly sees the humor in having a cat hidden underneath her dress and emerging when she lifts her skirt. The brief ten-second clip ends with the Guilty Party actress giggling at her own joke. She even got cheeky in the caption of the post, writing: “Now you see it, now you don’t.”
As for why the actress and glamor icon was sporting the opulent black gown in the first place, she was either headed to or coming home from the second wedding celebration of Paris Hilton. The hotel heiress married the author and entrepreneur Carter Reum over the weekend at the former Bel Air estate of the bride’s late grandfather Barron Hilton, the successor to hotelier Conrad Hilton. Vogue reports that the duo became engaged in February and married in a lavish ceremony with a celebration that lasted the next two days. Friends like Kim Kardashian, Nicole Richie and, of course, Kate Beckinsale were out to celebrate the former ‘Simple Life” star.
Just Jared reports that Beckinsale’s cat-hiding dress was the same one she sported at night two of Hilton’s wedding celebration, which took place at the famed Santa Monica Pier. TMZ reports Demi Lovato, Lele Pons, Lance Bass, and Diplo, who DJed the event, were all on hand along with Paris’ sister Nicky and mother Kathy. The stars got in touch with their inner children playing games like Wack-o-mole, balloon popping, a mini basketball game, ring tosses, and more while also and living it up on the pier with rides on the roller coaster, a Ferris wheel, and bumper cars. Still, despite the mission statement of the event seemingly being “activity,” Kate Beckinsale, ever the star, arrived in the billowy black gown.
