Kat McNamara is a self-proclaimed professional chameleon, able to transform her appearance and look stunning in any style. She recently shared a collage of her varying looks on her Instagram, showing what she looks like with six different hair colors and styles, ranging from blonde to pink to black. She looks fabulous in each photo, just like the other Instagram photos of her dawning a dazzling gown and a see-through top.
While Kat McNamara is known as an actress and an artist, she has a long list of other hobbies and talents, including laughter enthusiast, baker, pun junkie, and nerd. She also considers herself a thespian, which is a fancy Greek term for actor.
The 27-year-old star first began acting in 2007 when she was only 11 years old. She acted in many short films and TV shows to get her start, and she even appeared briefly in one episode of the TV show Glee in 2012. Since then, Kat McNamara has skyrocketed in her career with roles in 65 different projects and counting.
One of the biggest roles for Kat McNamara was her portrayal of the demon hunter Clara Fray in the supernatural TV series Shadowhunters which ran from 2016 to 2019 and aired a total of 55 episodes. The action fantasy show ran for three seasons on Freeform before being canceled due to financial reasons. Luckily for Kat McNamara, she was already involved in other Hollywood projects that allowed her to continue her acting career.
In 2018, Kat McNamara landed the role of Sonya in Maze Runner: The Death Cure and was also cast in the TV show Arrow as the archer hero Mia Smoak (AKA Green Arrow). Her role in Arrow has landed her many action-packed appearances in several other superhero TV shows, including Batwoman, Supergirl, and The Flash. The actress has not reprised her role as Mia Smoak since 2021, but with all the reboots and spinoffs happening these days, it’s not out of the question that we will see her portray her beloved character once again.
Next up for Kat McNamara, she will play the role of Terry in the new movie Fool’s Paradise, which the hilarious Charlie Day wrote, directed, and starred in. She will also star as Layla in the movie Jade and as Carly in the short film Samaritan. There’s also a rumor that Kat McNamara will be involved in the upcoming horror thriller Urban Legend which will be a reboot of the 1998 slasher film starring Jared Leto.
In addition to her ongoing acting career and Instagram modeling, Kat McNamara has built up an impressive musical portfolio after singing many songs in her movies and TV shows. She wrote and sang the songs “Chatter” and “My Heart Can Fly,” which were in her previous films, and she sang the song “Ember,” which played during the second season of her show Shadowhunters. “Ember” currently has over 5 million plays on Spotify, and her newer song “Love Me Like That” has over 450,000 plays on the music platform.
