Brie Larson was a juror this year at the Cannes International Film Festival, and she made sure to wear appropriately elegant attire befitting the position. Dressed head to toe in Chanel, Larson looked stunning as she attended various premieres for highly-anticipated films that screened at the prestigious fest. She took to Instagram to express her thoughts on the occasion and thanked the other jury members and the creatives behind the films they judged:

Normally, you would expect Brie Larson to be in one of the prestigious films that screen at Cannes, but it seems like she enjoyed her more behind-the-scenes role at the festival. Of course, it’s not like Larson hasn’t been making some films of her own. It’s just that those films have been massive blockbusters that don’t really fit the usual Cannes fare.

The first of those massive blockbusters is Fast X, where Brie Larson is making her debut in the Fast and Furious franchise. The movie is currently in theaters and has already pulled in over $618 million worldwide at the box office. The film is the penultimate entry to the long-running franchise, and the two-part follow-up will bring the main story to a close (though there’s always room for spin-offs in the future).

Along with Brie Larson, Fast X stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Scott Eastwood, Daniela Melchior, Alan Ritchson, Helen Mirren, Rita Moreno, Jason Statham, Jason Momoa, and Charlize Theron. The film follows Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto as his family is threatened by the son of one of his former enemies. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing Larson return for the upcoming sequels as well.

Brie Larson’s other major blockbuster this year is The Marvels, which is set to come to theaters on November 10. Larson will reprise her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, who mysteriously begins switching places with Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau every time they use their powers. The film is directed by Nia DaCosta and also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton, and Park Seo-joon.

We should also finally get to see Brie Larson’s long-awaited Apple TV+ series Lessons in Chemistry before the end of the year. The series, based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Bonnie Garmus, follows Larson as a chemist in the 1960s who finds herself pregnant and fired from her lab. The series is set to hit Apple’s streaming platform on October 13.

Another exciting project that was recently added to Brie Larson’s upcoming schedule is the Netflix Scott Pilgrim anime, which will see Larson reprising her role of Envy Adams from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Larson won’t be the only one reprising her role from the movie, as Michael Cera, Elizabeth Winstead, Satya Bhabha, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Alison Pill, Aubrey Plaza, Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, Johnny Simmons, Mark Webber, Mae Whitman, and Ellen Wong are all returning as well. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you updated on this series and Larson’s other upcoming projects.
