Ana de Armas is known for sharing glamorous looks on social media, much to the delight of her followers. In her latest post, the actress is seen showing off a striking Louis Vuitton gown. The dress features a skimpy black velvet bodice with bedazzled trim which flows into a white skirt adorned with floral appliqué and silver studs. She accessorized her look with a simple swept-back hairstyle, silver jewelry, and makeup by Estee Lauder.

In the accompanying caption, Ana de Armas thanked the designer and her style team for always being incredible and supportive. “I adore you,” she wrote. The photos were taken just before the 34-year-old attended the 13th Governors Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday night. The event celebrates awards conferred by the Academy’s Board of Governors.

This includes the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, and the Honorary Award, according to the ceremony’s website. The recipients are revealed months ahead of the event, where they are honored in the company of their peers like Ana de Armas. Songwriter Diane Warren, director Peter Weir, and director Euzhan Palcy are receiving honorary Oscars this year, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Michael J. Fox is this year’s Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award recipient, an honor that is bestowed upon those with outstanding contributions to humanitarian causes. The actor launched the Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2000 to fund research for Parkinson’s Disease. His efforts have raised around $1.5 billion to date. Along with Ana de Armas, Florence Pugh, Emma Corrin, Austin Butler, Colin Farrell, Brendan Fraser, Ke Huy Quan, and Eddie Redmayne were also in attendance.

Ana de Armas in Blonde

Meanwhile, Ana de Armas recently earned Oscar buzz for her stunning portrayal of Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe in the biopic Blonde. Written and directed by Andrew Dominik, the movie is based on the 2000 novel of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates. The film is billed as a fictionalized take on the life and career of Monroe. The cast also includes Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel, and Julianne Nicholson.

Blonde premiered at the 79th Venice International Film Festival in September and was later given a limited theatrical release in the United States. The project was then released by Netflix on September 28th. Interestingly, the movie received mixed reviews from critics and audiences who called Dominik’s graphic depiction of Monroe’s life exploitative and unethical. However, Ana de Armas’s performance garnered acclaim.

Ana de Armas also has two highly anticipated projects tentatively set for release sometime in 2023. The first is a romantic action-adventure for Apple TV+ called Ghosted. Directed by Dexter Fletcher from a screenplay by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the movie also stars Chris Evans, Adrien Brody, Mike Moh, Amy Sedaris, Tim Blake Nelson, Tate Donovan, and Mustafa Shakir.

Ana de Armas will also lead the cast of the upcoming John Wick spinoff, Ballerina. Directed by Len Wiseman from a script by Shay Hatten, the story follows a young woman with killer skills. After her family is killed by ruthless assassins, she uses them to get revenge. The project will serve as the fifth film and seventh overall installment overall of the franchise. Filming began earlier this month in Prague.
