The world was rocked by the new John Wick: Chapter 4 trailer, which showed plenty of gun-wielding mayhem and Keanu Reeves delivering the brunt of that mayhem. However, the John Wick universe is being expanded upon, with the ballerina faction getting its time to shine. Ana de Armas is starring as the lead in the spinoff movie, aptly titled Ballerina, and a fan has made a poster that showcases what Armas might look like in the titular role, which you can see above.

The poster is quite good, as Ana de Armas is sitting in the middle of a cavalcade of guns. Anyone who happens to know the John Wick universe knows that gunplay is of the highest importance in the franchise, and only the best assassins know how to use all kinds of weaponry. She also holds a bit of innocence in her pink tutu, though she has a bit of blood coming from her nose and some black eyes to go with her “gentle, yet dangerous” look.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is going to continue the mainline story, but the Ballerina movie is going to expand on the faction of Ballerinas that is led by Angelica Houston, who was shown in John Wick: Chapter 3. Both Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane are in talks to reprise their respective roles for the spinoff movie. Ana de Armas, Reeves, and McShane should make for quite a powerhouse trio for this universe-expanding feature.

Ana de Armas is meant to take on the role of a woman who hunts down those who have murdered her family. While the theme of revenge is something that her and Reeves’s character share, Armas is likely to play a much different assassin in her leading role. She is much younger than Reeves, so we would imagine that she is going to be far more inexperienced when it comes to killing, and that could be why John Wick is brought into the movie.

Ana de Armas’s character could need some training, and what better person to set her on the right path to vengeance than the deadliest assassin in the world? She could also link up with The Continental and the league that Wick was part of, and Winston (McShane) runs, as he ushers her into joining to take out her revenge in the proper way. There is also a series being put together that revolves around The Continental, adding even more lore to a world that fans will surely want to see more of.

There is no given release date for Ballerina, though it was announced that Ana de Armas was in Prague to start filming this month. John Wick: Chapter 4 is also set to premiere on March 24, 2023, so it could be that the spinoff movie is going to come out towards the end of 2023. The Continental prequel series is also set to debut on Peacock in 2023, so there is going to be plenty of the Wick universe to appreciate next year, and we can’t wait to see it all.
