Luke Skywalker May Have A Son In Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Details Here

fb share tweet share

Luke SkywalkerSince the very moment it was announced, there has been an endless stream of chatter and speculation surrounding J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and that won’t end for some time. It’s probably the most anticipated movie since the first prequel, The Phantom Menace, so you have to expect that. We’ve heard all kinds of rumors and reports about the various characters, old and new, but of the fresh additions to the franchise, there hasn’t been all that much circling around Domhnall Gleeson’s character, that is until now.

There are loads of potential spoilers beyond this point. You’ve been warned. Also, this is an unofficial report from unnamed sources, so take it with a grain of salt and make of it what you will.

Why Luke Skywalker Looks Like Crazy Hobo And Other Bits Of Star Wars News

fb share tweet share

star warsOkay, it feels like it’s been a while since there have been some big time potential spoilers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Part of that is probably due to Disney’s new war on leaks, and I like to imagine it like how reporters wait in bars where political aides congregate, hoping the one or another has one drink too many and lets a juicy tidbit slip (at least that’s what TV has told me happens). I also imagine the House of Mouse would subsequently disappear this person. That said, they’re fighting an uphill battle, and a new report has a ton of potential spoilers for The Force Awakens.

Just a warning, if these are true, a big if, they’re the holy shit, ruin-your-day variety of spoilers, so maybe you just want to watch the trailer for The Force Awakens again and call it good.

What If Luke Skywalker Accepted Darth Vader’s Offer To Rule The Galaxy?

VaderFatherIt’s one of the most iconic moments not only in science fiction, but movie history in general. (And I’m not going to put a spoiler warning for The Empire Strikes Back, if you haven’t seen it at this point, that’s on you, or your parents.) When Darth Vader reveals that he is in fact Luke Skywalker’s father and reaches out his hand to his son, whose hand he just lopped off, and says they can rule the galaxy together, Luke cries, screams, and chucks himself down what is essentially a garbage chute. Probably not the reaction Vader was hoping for, but what if this went down another way? What if Luke was like, “Sure, I’ll come run shit with you, dad”? That’s the basic idea behind this clever new web comic.

This brief comic strip comes from the fine folks over at Dorkly. It’s a pretty damn good time, and not a half bad way to spend a couple of minutes of your Christmas Eve. They have all kinds of fantastic nerdy comics and the like, but this has to be one of my favorites, just for the concept alone. It’s such a simple “What if,” but so genius at the same time. You also have to wonder how Vader would react. He didn’t really expect Luke to let it all slide, and say, “Sure, you just froze my bro in carbonite, cut off my hand, are a general evil, despotic bastard, not to mention an absentee father, but what the hell, I’ll team up with you.” Did he? I would be taken aback and startled too.

Why Luke Skywalker And Princess Leia Shouldn’t Be The Same Age Anymore

return of the jediLast month, Christopher Nolan tackled the subject of relativity with Interstellar, giving audiences without scientific minds a flabbergastingly odd look at the different ways in which time works in deep space. And watching that, you may have thought to yourself, “Say, what about all the other movies that deal with deep space that never mention physics at all?” Well, a team of scientists have put the world of Star Wars to task and have concluded the traveling done therein would mean that twin siblings Leia and Luke Skywalker should actually be completely different ages in the films.

Luke Skywalker Has A Fire Burning In His Eyes In Star Wars: Episode VII

fb share tweet share

Now that we know the title of the next Star Wars movie, there’s nothing more to discuss, right? Oh wait, there’s still everything to speculate about because aside from the fact that it is now officially called Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we still don’t know all that much. But now there’s a report going around that could shed some light on the state of one of the returning characters: Luke Skywalker.

Two things. First, SPOILERS! SPOILERS!! SPOILERS!!! Or at least potential ones. Which brings us to point number two, this is completely unsubstantiated, and though it does seem to jive with other things we’ve heard, take it with a grain of salt.

Star Wars: Episode VII: This Is What Luke Skywalker Has Been Up To Recently

fb share tweet share

star warsOver the last few days it feels like all I’ve written about is Star Wars: Episode VII. Between connections to Star Wars: Rebels, set photos of that one ship, and those even newer set photos of that badass other ship (see, I’m trying to be a good sport and not spoil anything above the jump), there’s been quite a bit to discuss. And that continues, as we’ve heard some possible news about whereabouts one of the returning franchise vets who may be missing in action (if you’ve kept up with the scuttlebutt, you know who I’m talking about).

As per usual, there are possible SPOILERS for Episode VII beyond this point. You’ve been warned, continue with caution. Also, take what you read beyond here with a grain of salt. Nothing is official, and nothing is likely to become official until we actually see the damn movie on December 18, 2015. Keep that in mind.
