Rosario Dawson Disappointed By The Book Of Boba Fett Finale

The first season of the Disney+ show The Book of Boba Fett has recently wrapped up, and it seems to have disappointed at least one fan: actor Rosario Dawson. Of course, Dawson is not just a fan. She is also an upcoming integral part of Disney’s plan for a series of Disney+ shows, starring as Star Wars fan favorite Ahsoka Tano in a show of the same name. After she appeared in the second season of Disney+’s The Mandalorian and in an episode of The Book of Boba Fett, she apparently was holding out some hope that she might face off against grim bounty hunter Cad Bane someday. And then given that Cad Bane was killed in a duel by Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) in the finale of his show, that seems unlikely. Check out Dawson’s Tweets on the subject here:
Similar to Rosario Dawson, we were also a bit let down by The Book of Boba Fett. But while her reasons largely stem from the fact that it is probably pretty awesome to portray a former Jedi apprentice and kick the butt of gravelly voiced bounty hunters, ours were a little more prosaic. After two largely excellent seasons of the Pedro Pascal-starring The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett felt like it was treading much of the same ground to diminishing results. It also had the impediment of having to give depth to a Star Wars character most defined by his mystery and silence. To be fair, there was also a lot less Grogu in Boba Fett’s show, and there is no show that could not be improved by the addition of Baby Yoda, up to and including reboots of The West Wing and Seinfeld. Still, The Book of Boba Fett did feature a Rancor beating giant droids into pieces and then pulling a King Kong by climbing a tower, so it was not all wasted time.
As much as it seems the demise of Cad Bane might have stolen the chance for a showdown with Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka. After all, this is the franchise that brought back Emperor Palpatine after throwing him to the center of an exploding space station, and even in The Book of Boba Fett, we got a post-credits scene of Timothy Olyphant’s Cobb Vanth miraculously surviving being gunned down in a Tatooine street. So we should not necessarily give up the faith on that subject. And besides, we recently got confirmation of the Ahsoka show getting a primary villain in Ray Stevenson’s unnamed villain, so she already has a bad guy. Also, as she was introduced in The Mandalorian on a quest to hunt down another Star Wars fan favorite, Grand Admiral Thrawn, we might finally get to see that too.
Between Ahsoka with Rosario Dawson and the Obi-Wan Kenobi show with Ewan McGregor being confirmed to be released this May, there is already some excitement on its way for Star Wars fans. So let’s not let one more or less Cad Bane ruin the future of a galaxy far, far away for any of us. Not even Rosario Dawson.
