Watch William Shatner Show Up At The Oscars As Captain Kirk And Save The Show

Normally there’s not a lot to see at the Oscars for science fiction fans. The Academy tends to ignore the genre, whether or not it’s worthy, preferring historical dramas over movies about space travel. This year, though, the Academy Awards were hosted by Seth MacFarlane, out as one of the world’s biggest Star Trek fans. Given the power to craft his own show, Seth brought in William Shatner to reprise the role of Captain Kirk where he spent nearly 15-minutes on stage in his Captain’s chair dispensing show advice to a nervous MacFarlane.
