Actress Cindy Morgan has died at the age of 69. You likely know her best from her role in the 1980 comedy movie Caddyshack or in 1982’s Tron

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office officially confirmed her passing. Further details are not yet available. While we don’t know the cause of death, we do know Cindy Morgan’s body is currently being held at a local Florida funeral home in Palm Beach County.

As an accomplished actress, Cindy Morgan was adored for her role as Lacey Underall alongside Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, and Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack, but that wasn’t her only popular and memorable performance.

She was featured in two roles in the popular 80’s film Tron just two years later. When the Tron: Legacy movie was released in 2010, Cindy Morgan didn’t have a role in the movie. However, she did entertain a brief reprisal as Lora for a faux news conference held that same year as a promotion for the movie.

Cindy Morgan was once quoted as saying that before her Tron: Legacy campaign, her fanbase consisted of about “79 percent male”. After her appearance, her popularity with the men was even more intense.

She was certainly a sex symbol in her time. In Caddyshack, her beauty turned the eye of nearly all the guys, even Chevy Chase. Chase’s character had to do his best to ward off the temptress when she tried seducing him at a party in the film.

While attending a convention as Lacey Underall (her character in Caddyshack) Cindy Morgan spoke of how men came up to meet her and suddenly transformed into 14-year-old boys who couldn’t get their words straight.

In Tron, Cindy Morgan played two roles: Lora and Yori. Yori was the romantic interest of Tron, a program created by scientist and programmer Lora. After the release of Tron, Morgan went on to make her mark on other movies like Galaxis, American Gigolo, Silent Fury, and Up Yours on the big screen.

On the TV screen, Cindy Morgan appeared in various roles on hit shows like The Love Boat, Matlock, Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color, Harry and the Hendersons, and CHiPs (among others). One could argue that her television resume was even more impressive than her run on the big screen.

She also appeared in several TV movies such as The Midnight Hour, Amanda & the Alien, and Out There. Cindy Morgan wasn’t short on personality either, playing the role of herself in a 2006 mockumentary called Open Mic’rs

For those who knew her and loved her, it is certain that Cindy Morgan will be missed. Even those who didn’t know her in life but knew her on-screen will feel the absence of her passion for film. The actress remained active in showbiz, as recently as 2022 she voiced a role in an indie film.

As a sendoff from all of your fans and those who did have the pleasure of knowing you… Rest in peace, Cindy Morgan.
