The Mandalorian has managed to capture the hearts and minds of many Star Wars fans. The first season was met with overwhelming praise from both hardcore fans and more casual viewers. Anticipation for the second season has been at a fever pitch, and now Entertainment Weekly has given us our first screenshots from the second season.

This first shot (seen above) shows off our two intrepid leads, Din Djarin and the Child (better known as Baby Yoda). You can prominently see the signet of the mudhorn on Djarin’sright upper arm. It looks like that won’t be the only new piece of armor the Mandalorian will be sporting in season 2.

We’ll also be seeing a number of returning characters in The Mandalorian season two. Carl Weathers will be back as Greef Karga, the agent of the Bounty Hunters’ Guild and ally to Djarin. At the end of season one, he offered a Guild membership to Cara Dune (Gina Carano) and she accepted. As you can see below, we’ll also be seeing more of Dune in the second season.

It is possible that these two characters have been bumped up to series regulars. It’s unclear exactly how much we will be seeing of them in season two, but if the fan response has been that positive, we could be seeing them more often than we did the first time around. As this next picture shows, the Mandalorian, Dune, and Karga are definitely going to be fighting alongside one another once again.

And exactly who will they be facing? Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) will return for season two and will be the big bad of the season. We saw him end the last season by using the mysterious Darksaber, a relic that has deep ties to Mandalorian culture. Could Djarin end up on a quest to free the Darksaber from Gideon’s Imperial hands?

The Mandalorian employed a lot of globetrotting (or planet-hopping) in its first season and it is fair to assume that season two will do the same thing. In this next photo, we see Djarin mounting a speeder on an unknown desert planet. the series has already been to Tatooine once. could it be making a return trip? Or could this be the desert planet of Jakku which we saw in The Force Awakens? Or a totally new planet? Either way, that’s a pretty cool speeder Djarin is riding.

And last but not least, we have to have a good close-up on the character that launched a billion memes: Baby Yoda. No matter how hard Disney tries to get us to call him the Child, he is always going to be Baby Yoda.

Exactly what new info we will learn about Baby Yoda remains to be seen, but it is currently one of the biggest plot mysteries in all of fandom. Considering Baby Yoda’s overwhelming popularity, it is safe to expect we will be seeing a lot more of him.

The second season of The Mandalorian will begin airing on Disney+ on October 30. If you want to catch up with everything we know about season two, be sure to read our Mandalorian season two guide!
