Fans of The Seven Deadly Sins can get one last dose of the original series before the sequel series starts up. The second part of The Grudge of Edinburgh movie just hit Netflix and is now available to stream. It’ll be the last entry of the series that features the first generation of characters and their children before the series moves on to a brand new generation of characters in The Four Knights of the Apocalypse sequel series that comes out on October 8.

The Seven Deadly Sins: The Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1 and Part 2 on Netflix is an original story by creator Nakaba Suzuki and follows Prince Tristan, who has the power of the Demon Clan from his father Meliodas and the power of the Goddess Clan from his mother Elizabeth.

The Seven Deadly Sins: The Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1 and Part 2 are the third and fourth films of the series on Netflix, with the first film being 2018’s Prisoners of the Sky and 2021’s Cursed by Light.

Tristan heads to the kingdom of Edinburgh when his mother’s life is threatened, which leads him to cross paths with Deathpierce, who is restoring the once-fallen kingdom. The second film sees Tristan fighting his inner demons to save his mother as he is also reunited with his friend Lancelot.

Of course, those who have yet to see The Seven Deadly Sins anime will undoubtedly get more out of The Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1 and Part 2 by checking that series out first. The anime has five seasons, which are all available to stream on Netflix. The anime is adapted from Nakaba Suzuki’s manga of the same name.

The series starts with the third princess of Liones, Elizabeth, seeking out the leader of the knights, Meliodas, to get the knights back together, clear their names, and free the kingdom from the rule of the Holy Knights, who had unsealed the Demon Race after being manipulated by a demon named Fraudrin.

The Seven Deadly Sins takes place in the Middle Ages-like land of Brittania, where seven knights named for the seven deadly sins have disbanded after being framed for a coup to take over the kingdom of Liones.

You’ll have quite a bit of binge-watching to do if you want to catch up on the anime and the movies before the sequel series comes in October.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse is also created by Nakaba Suzuki, who has been making new chapters of the manga since 2021.

The Seven Deadly Sins: The Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1 and Part 2 bridge the gap between the original series and the upcoming Four Knights of the Apocalypse, so it’s definitely essential viewing on Netflix for fans of the franchise.

Four Knights of the Apocalypse follows an entirely new cast of characters, with the protagonist being Percival, who learns he is destined to be one of four knights who have been prophesied to destroy the world. Percival travels with Lancelot to find the other three Knights as they are pursued by the forces of Camelot.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse is also created by Nakaba Suzuki, who has been making new chapters of the manga since 2021. As of now, the manga is still ongoing, so it seems like fans will get plenty more of the universe before all is said and done.

While it would probably be best to watch the previous series and the films connecting the two, since Suzuki intentionally chose Percival as a new character unrelated to the previous series, it’ll likely be possible to enjoy the series without any prior knowledge of the franchise.

In any case, The Seven Deadly Sins: The Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1 and Part 2 are the most recent anime entries to the series if you’ve been waiting for new content. The anime and the films have been generally well-reviewed by fans of the manga and anime-only watchers alike, so make sure to check it out if you’re interested. We’ll keep you updated on the upcoming Four Knights of the Apocalypse series and other anime-related news.
