Ahoy! Pack your swimmies and prepare to hit the high seas as The Hollywood Reporter reveals that San Diego Comic-Con will be setting sail in February 2025. Find your cabin and schmooze with fellow nerds (as nerds, we say that lovingly) on a celebration of all things Comic-Con as you’re shuttled between Tampa and the Mexican island Cozumel while aboard Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas.

San Diego Comic-Con is kicking off its own themed cruise in February 2025.

Fully practiced in this sort of thing, the immersive experience is coming to travelers via Entertainment Cruise Productions, the folks that previously brought Trekkies’ dreams to life in a Star Trek-themed cruise.

The news comes just as the festivities of the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con kicked off in the eponymous California city with thousands of attendees taking in their favorite productions up close and personal. While the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike may be prohibiting some of the more looked-forward-to events from happening, there are still plenty of unforgettable experiences for guests to enjoy.

As with any good sea-bound getaway, there will be DJs and bands as well as more specific to the community events like themed parties, cosplay, trivia sessions, and more.

This year’s features include plenty of Barbie-themed stops along with Marvel, Star Wars, Lego, Hasbro, Nickelodeon, Dark Horse Comics, NECA, Hulu, Konami, FX, Image, and other themed booths.

As for what potential participants can expect from the San Diego Comic-Con cruise, an array of special events await from the moment you step on deck with actors, creators, authors, and more who will all be (trapped) on the ocean with you during this country-hopping excursion.

As with any good sea-bound getaway, there will be DJs and bands as well as more specific to the community events like themed parties, cosplay, trivia sessions, and more. Meet and greets, autograph, and photo sessions will bring you in front of your favorite stars while group panels and Q&A sessions will get down to the nitty-gritty of the most celebrated productions.

Aquaman‘s assistance is not guaranteed to any cruise ship passengers

While you’re dressing to the nines as Harley Quinn, the captain aboard the S.S. San Diego Comic-Con (Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas) will be toting you through the untamed waters of the Caribbean and Mexico where you’ll see gorgeous sights like white sand beaches, mountains, and strikingly unique architecture.

For the low low price of $990 per person for a double occupancy room, you can get into all performances, parties, interviews, events, and meals.

If you feel like being active, there’s a 40-foot rock climbing wall as well as a mini golf set up to test your skills while others may want to go the more relaxing route of sunning by the pool, getting a massage at the spa, or eating at the many restaurants and bars. There’s also a Vegas-style casino where you can cast your bet against other passengers to become the big winner of the evening.

In a statement dropped alongside the cruise’s big reveal, Greg Laubach, the executive director of Entertainment Cruise Productions, celebrated San Diego Comic-Con for its ability to create “experiences you can’t find anywhere else,” adding that the cruise would be a “one-of-a-kind ultimate fan adventure.”

For the low low price of $990 per person for a double occupancy room, you can get into all performances, parties, interviews, events, and meals. Still, a while off, giving attendees plenty of time to get their money together, the cruise sets sail on February 5, 2025, and returns on February 9.
