According to legal documents obtained by The Blast(via MovieWeb), former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan has filed an emergency restraining order against a 55-year-old woman. Brosnan claims the woman has been living in a car outside his Malibu beach home. The filing reveals that Brosnan has stated that the woman “has been stalking [him] and his family.”

Pierce Brosnan reportedly called the police twice to remove the woman from the premises. However, police could not arrest the woman for living outside Brosnan’s home, and police had advised the actor to file a civil restraining order. In the filing, Brosnan described what happened when the woman found his family’s home.

“She originally said she was looking for Dick Van Dyke (she has a tattoo of him on her arm), but when she found me and my family, she stayed in front of our house. She gave me two odd notes, said she needed $1,500 for new tires, and gave me a drawing she did of me.”

The L.A. judge granted Pierce Brosnan an emergency restraining order against the woman, who was told that she could not contact him “directly or indirectly” or “harass” him in any way. A formal hearing is set for October 25th, 2022, to discuss the possibility of extending the order for 3 to 5 years. As of this writing, the woman must stay 400 yards away from Brosnan’s home.

It’s not all that surprising that someone would be stalking the former James Bond actor, despite Pierce Brosnan admitting he hated certain aspects of playing the famous spy. Brosnan has built up quite the fanbase for himself, mainly through his run as 007. However, it seemed he’s been trying his best to move away from the role.

Fans of Pierce Brosnan will next see him in the upcoming DC project Black Adam, where he plays the sorcerer Doctor Fate. Recent trailers of Black Adam have shown Brosnan carrying the classic Doctor Fate helmet. Though it’s unlikely the 69-year-old actor will actually suit up for the Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson comic-book film.

Pierce Brosnan also will star in the American crime comedy The Out-Laws alongside Adam DeVine. The project is directed by Tyler Spindel, who previously worked on the Netflix film The Wrong Missy. Principal photography on The Out-Laws began on October 2021.

We reported through our trusted and proven sources that Pierce Brosnan was cast in an untitled Star Wars project. It seemed likely he’d play the fan-favorite Star Wars character Grand Admiral Thrawn; however, there hasn’t been any confirmation regarding the casting. If true, this would make Pierce Brosnan’s dance card even more hectic.

So, as we can see, there is much to be excited about regarding Pierce Brosnan. Still, it doesn’t mean anyone should flat-out stalk the actor or his family if, indeed, that was the woman’s intention. We’ve seen this type of situation turn sideways quickly, with some lives stolen due to a stalker’s obsession. Brosnan may have made the right call to inform the police when he found out the woman had discovered where he and his family lived.

Hopefully, this situation can get settled fast. Brosnan is currently filming a crime movie called Fast Charlie for Screen Media. The film also stars Deadpool actress Morena Baccarin. Screen Media recently told The Wrap that plan is to release the movie sometime in 2023.
