See Megan Fox As Poison Ivy For The Batman 2
Megan Fox is Poison Ivy in this fan art.
Warner Bros and DC have been making headlines all year since the Warner Bros Discover CEO, David Zaslav, announced he was cutting a chunk of projects, including the highly anticipated (and almost completed), Batgirl. While the DC Extended Universe has felt a bit like a jigsaw puzzle lately as they figure out which projects fit in their big-picture plans, Zaslav recently announced that a new game plan for the DCEU was close to being completed. Could that game plan include a new Batman flick starring Megan Fox as Poison Ivy? According to the imagination of one artist on Instagram—absolutely.
An artist that uses the handle @jaxsonderr posted a digital fan art image containing Megan Fox’s likeness covered with green ivy leaves on their Instagram account. The art was meant to showcase how Fox would look as Poison Ivy, and the consensus is that she looks pretty freaking incredible. Their caption for the post expressed their desire to see the infamous DC character return to a live-action film.
Recently, DC’s Poison Ivy has been getting a lot of screen time in the animated world. Lake Bell voices the human-hating-plant-loving character in the Harley Quinn animated series on HBO Max, alongside Kaley Cuoco, who voices Harley Quinn. However, the character has not appeared in a live-action Batman film since 1997’s Batman & Robin, where Uma Thurman portrayed the character. While she may not have appeared in the cinema for more than two decades, there is a Poison Ivy in the Batwoman television series, played by Bridget Regan.
Last year, a rumor went viral that Megan Fox was cast to play the Gotham supervillain. While the reports ended up being false, the imaginations of fans began stirring, and Megan Fox as Poison Ivy fan art began popping up all over the internet, with fans believing the Transformers actress would be the perfect fit for the role.
Last March, a Giant Freakin Robot exclusive shared that the DCEU had a Poison Ivy movie in the works. The status of the film has not been updated for a while, and it is unclear whether the Poison Ivy movie will be completed or become another DC film placed on the back burner. However, Megan Fox would be a great casting option for Poison Ivy if the film does get made, at least according to the internet.
Just like the heroes, every villain has a story to tell. As a fan favorite, it would be interesting to see how the DCEU expands Ivy’s backstory and possibly intertwine her story with Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, as the two characters make up an iconic duo. There is also a possibility for the DCEU to explore Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, and Catwoman as a trio since the three make up the notorious Gotham City Sirens.
Will the DCEU listen to the call of the fans and cast Megan Fox as Poison Ivy as they expand the DC universe? Only time will tell. But for now, at least we know that Fox would look pretty darn good in the role, thanks to artists like @jaxsonderr.
