Deadpool 3 is one of the highly-anticipated upcoming movie releases scheduled for 2024, and as always, the rumor mill is running rampant. According to Y! Entertainment, the newest rumors suggest that Wolverine’s son, Daken, might appear in the upcoming multiversal movie.

Wolverine’s Son Is In Deadpool 3?

The new rumor is courtesy of an industry insider, DanielRPK, who stated that Deadpool 3 would also feature Logan’s son Akihiro, also known as Daken, who had inherited his father’s healing abilities and the protruding bony claws—though he only has two claws, like the X-23 from the Logan movie. However, despite several mutant characters appearing in the film, the roster for the movie has been stacked since May 2023, so the information about Daken’s appearance should be taken with a grain of salt.

Tons Of MCU Cameos Rumored For Deadpool 3

With that said, Daken’s rumored appearance isn’t all that surprising. Deadpool 3 is the first movie in the series to be officially recognized as part of the MCU, which makes it a Disney film, and we all know just how much Disney likes milking its franchises for every cent possible. Even She-Hulk introduced Hulk’s son before the show was canceled, which set the foundations for Disney to build upon in the future, making the idea of Daken’s appearance in the movie not as far-fetched as one might think.

Even More Wolverine Characters Allegedly Involved

This particularly makes sense after several Wolverine characters have been associated with the upcoming Deadpool 3 and its cast. This also includes Dafne Keen as the aforementioned X-23—which we would love to see—and a variant of Wolverine portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe.

The latter is also an interesting proposition and one that has also been suggested by DanielRPK. Oh, and perhaps even a Karl Urban variant. So, why not Daken? The information about any of these hasn’t been officially confirmed, so we advise the readership to ingest this information with a grain of salt.

Variants Are Now A Big Thing

sci-fi trope

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Loki, though entirely different, both entertained the multiversal idea and even went as far as to introduce us to numerous variants of the lead character. So, it’s not really outside the realm of possibilities to have multiple Deadpools or even several Wolverine variants as well, and if that’s the case, Draken could easily be added into the Mix of multiversal Wolverines in Deadpool 3. And since everything in Marvel is canon, Draken could be the son of Mariko and Logan from 2013’s Wolverine.

Who Is Draken?

For those who aren’t really familiar with the character purportedly appearing in Deadpool 3, Daken is also a mutant who possesses super-healing abilities, enhanced strength, and heightened senses. As mentioned before, he has two bone claws, which were later infused with Adamantium, much like Wolverines.

In the comics, he’s the son of Logan and his Japanese wife, Itsu, to whom Logan was married in 1946. Itsu was killed by the Winter Soldier while she was expecting Daken, but the boy managed to survive thanks to the healing abilities he inherited from his father.

It’ll be interesting to see Draken if he actually appears in the upcoming Deadpool 3, scheduled to release on July 26, 2024.
