J. Michael Straczynski shared several images from the upcoming animated movie Babylon 5: The Road Home on social media. The move, which received the go-ahead from Warner Bros, follows their initial unveiling at Phoenix Fan Fusion. “Folks have been asking what style would be used for the #B5animatedmovie,” he wrote alongside the photos.

Although the Babylon 5 creator didn’t name the characters, they appear to offer a first look at popular characters like Stephen Franklin, Zathras, Delenn, John Sheridan, and Lennier. Babylon 5: The Road Home seamlessly picks up after the conclusion of the original television series. The film is directed by Matt Peters from a screenplay by J. Michael Straczynski.

Babylon 5: The Road Home promises an enthralling adventure as John Sheridan, unexpectedly transported across multiple timelines and alternate realities, tries to find his way back home. As he travels through the vast expanse of the galaxy, Sheridan reunites with some familiar faces and uncovers cosmic secrets that shed light on the universe’s history, purpose, and meaning.

The animated feature is the sixth movie in the Babylon 5 franchise and the second installment to be released direct-to-video after The Lost Tales miniseries. The Road Home sees several original cast members from Babylon 5 returning to lend their voices to their old characters. Bruce Boxleitner reprises John Sheridan, with Claudia Christian returning as Susan Ivanova.

Peter Jurasik stars as Londo Mollari alongside Bill Mumy as Lennier, Tracy Scoggins as Elizabeth Lochley, and Patricia Tallman as Lyta Alexander. In addition to the returning stars, the animated movie features a talented roster of actors who will voice new characters or step in to honor the roles of Babylon 5 stars who have passed away since the series ended.

Paul Guyet takes on the roles of Zathras and Jeffery Sinclair. Anthony Hansen brings life to Michael Garibaldi. Mara Junot portrays the Reporter and Computer Voice. Phil LaMarr portrays Dr. Stephen Franklin, Piotr Michael voices David Sheridan, Andrew Morgado stars as G’Kar, and Rebecca Riedy voices Delenn. The film is expected to be released in the summer of 2023.
